Oops. Lawrence Summers isn’t from Hollywood, and he’s not a sexy starlet from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” or “Sex and the City.”
If only he underwent an “Extreme Makeover” to fit these characteristics, Summers might get away with his comments about lack of women in the sciences in academia.
After all, the Harvard President--who continues to be under fire for attributing gender differences to a lack of women in the sciences--recently suffered a vote of no confidence by Harvard professors.
Yet, this past weekend’s Disney movie, “Ice Princess,” said the same thing as Summers, without the whines and shrieks of condemnation.
In fact, there’s hardly a peep about “Ice Princess” from the normally boisterous female Harvard professors who’ve been so harsh on Summers. And hardly a peep from the cornucopia of others who quickly got on the bandwagon to label Summers a male chauvinist.
Starring “Buffy’s” Michelle Trachtenberg, “Ice Princess” is the story every Harvard chick prof and assorted other feminists would despise.

The comparison of the comments and reactions to Ward Churchill and Lawrence Summers speak volumes of the current take on Freedom of Speech. To the left, it depends ENTIRELY on what's being said and by whom, and any pretense to the contrary has been summarily abandoned. Conservatives should resist the temptation to respond in kind-the right to express one's self should, ideally, include opposing philosophies. The Left has taken, unashamedly and without apology, the Fascist road of censorship and oppression. But what's new?
Because somebody heard Summers and nobody went to see this movie?
Because Summers is not part of the national effort by left wing neocommunists to destroy America, our way of life, capitalism and distribute the wealth and property now held by Americans to those who truly deserve to have it, that's why!
Which Summers? Lawrence or Buffy?

He did no such thing. It was an off-the-cuff remark, one of several possibilites that he suggested opening debate on regarding women in sciences.
I know this article is not bashing Summers but it is parroting a MSM distortion.
