Thanks, I was hoping that the case would be reposted. It was very interesting, and I was wondering why it hadn't been sighted as precedent.

What are the adultry laws! Whether you can speak for yourself or not you should be entitled to a divorce if your husband breaks your marriage vows. Hello, thats a contract! He broke and she should not have to abide by anything he decides.

The State of Florida does not recognize common law marriages ...

Which makes sense because cohabitation and adultery are second degree misdemeanors under Florida law.

A punk con and resentful man who Terri unfortunately married. Those things happen.

He's been wrapped up prettily by the extensive Death cult network in Florida and the nation and prances about in the media.

Dr. Ronald Cranford
In published articles, including a 1997 op-ed in the Minneapolis–St. Paul Star Tribune, he has advocated the starvation of Alzheimer’s patients. He has described PVS patients as indistinguishable from other forms of animal life.

Setting aside this dehumanizing, sickening view, let us first remember that we do not let other animals suffer in this way. Remember that even in the Bible humans were taught to respect animals and to kill them in a kosher way; we were not allowed to let them suffer.

I know this is probably true, but what happened to the separation of powers doctrine? Can someone explain how Florida's govt is constructed?

The moral of this sad story: If you have children, do not support their decision to marry UNLESS and only UNLESS their fiance/fiancee agrees ...that YOU and NOT the spouse will be the sole guardian. If your child and his/her intended do not accept this agreement, do nothing to support their wedding (pay for it, attend it etc.)

OK, Mom, I give. You can have a harpist in the wedding procession!

I thought so. Calls for mob action in this case are irresponsible. That is not how we do things in this wonderful nation.

If Terri's case is to have any impact, that impact must come from legislation, carefully considered. A mob will not effect any change, other than to harden the hearts of those who must make the laws that affect these end of life decisions.

I'm not encouraged when I see so many people saying that the answer here is for people to do what is patently illegal to save this poor woman's life.

If what is happening to Terri is wrong, then laws need to be changed. But...the FL legislature just refused to pass a bill to change the law. Just yesterday.

This is not a simple matter, and will not be solved today.

I remind you that Clinton used an executive order and the Dept of Justice to remove Elian Gonzalez from his relatives in Fla. Presidents have used the military in many ways without a declaration of war from Congress. So the power does exist in the Exec Branch.

I mean the whole situation is tragic and sad. She was a beautiful young woman whose life was changed forever in an instant.

Nobody wants to talk about the fact that maybe she DID say that she wouldn't want to live like this. Point to all the medical facts that you want, she's been in this condition for 15 years. What if she's praying for death?

Oh, and you can keep that Nazi crap to yourself.

"I'm curious if the Catholic church has a stance on cremation, for or against and autopsy?"

The RCC does not prohibit cremation, nor does it prohibit autopsies.

I can see it now; attorneys arguing cases in front on 9 jars with heads floating in them.

"A Taste of Freedom," season four of Futurama. The People of United Earth v. John Zoidberg. Not the best episode, but it had some fantastic CGI work. I think "The Sting" is more topical, though.

The spouse makes the decision according to the law, not the girlfriend.

Just a thought........would Thomas and Scalia vote not to take this case to expedite Jeb's ability to intervene before Terri dies........i.e. TODAY??
