[history]
Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

I wish I could have done more, though. The numbers I tried were all busy, but I did get e-mails to all the senators, Drudge and Sean, though.
I'm starting to get that nervous, shaky feeling again.

Yes it will, and we were here all together!

Well, while not all Dems are supporting this, and incidentally not all on the right are defending terri's right to life, those on the Left not doing so mainly fall alone a few reasons.
Perception the Judiciary's authority is being challenged. This is true, and for the Dems, terrifying.
Also, grassroot supporters are firm believers in euthanasia and abortion. This is seen as being a threat to their viability.
Those on the right, on the other hand, keep citing privacy, limited government, and state rights. Oh, and both sides argue no one would want to live like that.

I don't mean to be incendiary, but why are the Democrats supporting this? What is their rationale for having this poor, helpless woman die such a slow and tortured death? Not a republican/democratic thing per se. Lots of democrats voted right along with the republicans the other night (close to half that were there) and the parties in Florida that are involved (judge, HINO, etc.,) are all republicans. It is a liberal/conservative thing though.
To: Freepertwo
As immoral as abortion is, I could, if I had to make a case for it at times. But to allow a helpless woman like this to be killed so callously is a step beyond aborting a fetus.

This issue seems to be splitting both the left and right, and both the Dems and some factions of the GOP. Terri in general has more support from conservatives and GOP, but it's not universal.
There aren't clear cut dichotomies. Every split has multiple angles.
It's a complicated, multifaceted subject. Please forgive me if the tension keeps me from expounding on it tonight. But the bottom line is: those who think a human life has intrinsic value versus those who think it doesn't. And the bottom line to the bottom line: good vs. evil.

Not me, I want to but I can't stay awake anymore. Bet I'll be up before you though. LOL
Goodnight everyone!

Add a prayer to St. Expeditus. I'm not joking, he is in the earliest official list of Saints. I invoke him frequently.

The black people I know are very religious, loving and absolutely take care of one another more than most white people I know. They don't seem to outsource their love and caring as much. Just my opinion. Thanks for posting that. I totally agree. My hairdresser is black and when she talks about her family it is just lovely.

LadyPilgrim,
If you go on a thread that was sometime around 4pm there was a poster of the two of them.
Also on another one before now. I cannot recall the time though it was today.

No, them taking this long means they are getting involved. I have seen appeals for the Schindlers take 30 minutes to be denied. Praying with all my heart and soul you are right.
