Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.
Amen! Lord, send strength and Living water to Terri. Surround her with angels to keep her safe! Send health and healing to Terri. In Jesus name, Amen.
Maybe SCOTUS will cite foreign opinion, and rule in Terri's favor? < /sarcasm >
I know how you feel. Nothing turns my stomach more than hearing someone invoke God or Jesus while calling for the murder of one of God's children.
Perhaps they (the girl's family) have asked before 10:00 a.m. (11th Circuit Court rather than SCOTUS), but only now, at 12:30 p.m., are those details being made public(?)

From what I understand this was the way they feel best to simply get the feeding tube restored while they continue to fight this legally. At this point they are not concerned about subsequent legal battles but only with keeping her from being murdered beforehand.
Definitely going to the 11th....Fox has been reporting all morning that the family was going to the Supremes...they were wrong, again.
We know that Terri got one dem from the 11th that wants her to live.....she just needs 5 more out of the 11. Does anyone know the breakdown of dems and reps?

I believe the 11th Circuit is the most conservative one.
remember as long as Terri can hold on (which is why we have to pray even harder)---they can do the 11th and if it doesn't work still have the SCOTUS...or ya know, maybe this is why....the main thing we need right now is the tube back in...maybe they crafted the appeal in a different way, so it meets their burden better and will try it again in the 11th because if they get that immediately, they can take their time appealing because she will be fed...then if the court denies the rest of the appeal, they still have the SCOTUS...if they go straight to SCOTUS and WOC is denied, they are done in the Courts...so what I am saying (in my half awake state of mind) is that maybe because they now know from the first denied appeal what they need to meet the burden, they will be able to succeed....just guessing of course
I have read the 11th circuit decision. The dissent is not persuasive. It relies on an All Writs concept that the majority correctly points out is not meant to supersede the rules for a preliminary injunction where such relief is available. The odds are remote that the Supreme Court will grant cert. Gibbs' pleadings are inadequate. Why he has not amended them given the circumstances remains a mystery. What in my view constitutes Gibbs' probable malpractice will cost Terri her life. It would seem too late for the Florida legislature to do anything. Beyond a reasonable doubt in my view, the jig is up.

I don't think anyone should go. I think there is a lot that can still be done right now. I could use a nap or some medication right now and I think we are all tense and particularly losing patience with each other for honest mistakes and opinions.

Duval County GOP office is getting snippy with callers saying they won't support them if King doesn't fix this problem. That tells me they're gettng more calls than they want to get and they don't like what they're hearing.
