US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)

Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro

This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).

The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they don’t want to be known as the party that killed Terri.

This is American history happening before your eyes.

I noticed there was one Senate Democrat sponsor of the bill. Anyone know who that was?

Thanks for the thread.
However this is a ridiculous display of EGO for these representatives.

"I believe that they are more afraid of an activist judge's opinion being overruled."

Oh, yes, that, too. That's the KEY to their agenda. It's their only hope of power.

I can't see how anyone who believes in God would allow this women to die and in this manner, worse, fight for it. Those who do believe in God cannot in any bit of self-honesty continue to support the party of death.

I suggest you learn to read before you hurl insults. Eagles post is a factual rendition of what is happening here. THIS is an important matter from both a Constitutional and personal standpoint.

Eagle simply makes the point that there are OTHER equally important matters that Congress is not affording the same degree of importance to and, further, he goes on to the logical conclusion that the reason these other important matters are not discharged with the rapidity and efficiency afforded this matter is the degree of interest by the Media and the Public. Hence his charge of 'Grandstanding'.

I find his statements completely reasonable in the circumstances and I find yours to be plain and simply Stupid.

Never going to be forgetting this night -- talk about stark contrast among the two parties -- this really is LIFE versus DEATH!

OH GOD. I wish I had said this. Samantha, I love you.

The stupid Demwit is also missing this key fact: several prominent neurologists have said the necessary tests have NOT been performed to determine that Terri is in a persistent vegetative state. More lies and distortions from the Party of Death.

Well that won't matter because they are the party of "DEATH" anyway you look at it.

Twisted Kerry-logic. Can't make a stand on your principles if you're a politician.

It amazes me to see these people standing up there and arguing FOR the death of a disabled woman whose only "crime" is that she cannot communicate or feed herself (in a "normal" manner)!

I think they're really fighting to keep families from being able to intervene in the end-state of terminal AIDS patients.

It's a Gay Rights issue now.
