US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

The likelihood of success on the merits is one of the factors the judge must consider in deciding on whether to issue an emergency order.

"Please do a little research on what the SC court actually did in Dec 2000 Bush V Gore. Your understanding of the event seems to have been dictated to you by DNC propaganda sheets rather then any real understanding of the issue."
You're covering up your own ignorance, aren't you. You never state facts; just throw out accusations. Conversation ends here. You have nothing worthwhile listening to, because you have nothing to say except insults and delusional thinking. Enjoy talking to yourself.

As a high-schooler in 1973 I told my parents that sooner or later the judges would approve killing old and sick people since they(the judges) felt it was permissible to kill babies. I must admit you were a great deal more perceptive at that age than I. We've slid quite a ways down that slippery slope in a mere 32 years...

President's comments-
Today, I signed into law a bill that will allow Federal courts to hear a claim by or on behalf of Terri Schiavo for violation of her rights relating to the withholding or withdrawal of food, fluids, or medical treatment necessary to sustain her life. In cases like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws, and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life. This presumption is especially critical for those like Terri Schiavo who live at the mercy of others. I appreciate the bipartisan action by the Members of Congress to pass this bill. I will continue to stand on the side of those defending life for all Americans, including those with disabilities.

Reichert...hmmm, didn't expect him, but he's a newbie anyway so I couldn't have guessed. I can understand the others.

I do believe that is part of the Bill - she is considered part of the evidence of the case and therefore has to be preserved while the review is going on.

No, that general definition is just about right - especially for THIS PARTICULAR hospice.
It specializes in "last weeks" service, not rehab, therapy, repairs, or rest/recuperation. It specializes in short-term near-death cases - all paid by insurance and the fed's..
And it has been losing money on Schiavo for years.
