Michael Schiavo: 'Come Down President Bush' (Terri's Husband is Getting Frustrated)
Tampa Bay Online ^ | 3.20.05 | William Levesque

Posted on 03/20/2005 7:51:55 AM PST by gopwinsin04

Angered by the lastest political developments in Washington, Michael Schiavo said Saturday that it isn't just the governor who should visit his wife to learn about the case.

'Come down, President Bush,' Schiavo said in a telephone interview. 'Come talk to me. Meet my wife. Talk to my wife and see if you get an answer. Ask her to lift her arm to shake your hand. She wont do it.'

She won't, Shiavo said, because she can't.

He made a similar offer last week to Florida Governor Jeb Bush saying lawmakers interfering in his wife's life know nothing about the case.

So far, Governor Bush has not responded to the offer. President George W, Bush has said he will sign any federal legislation that will keep Terri Schiavo alive.

Michael Schiavo also said that US Congressional House Majority Leader Tom Delay is a 'little slithering snake' pandering for votes.

'To make comments that Terri would want to live, how do they know?' Schiavo said of the members of Congress who want to keep Terri alive.

'Terri died 15 years ago,' referring to the collapse and cardiac arrest that doctors say virtually destroyed her brain. It's time for her to be with the lord like she wanted to be.'

"Neither can babies and paralyzed people you moron but we don't kill them."

He also fails to mention that possbly the reason she can't is because he has denied her rehabilitative therapy all these years, even so much as range of motion or holding a washcloth.

I think he's starting to panic. I hope Felos gets some face time today too. It would be great to see his latest prissy little tantrum.

The following is an excerpt from a lengthy article about Felos (the 'right-to-die' attorney involved) and the hospice where Terri S. stays. I don't know how accurate the information is, but if it's even partially true, it's pretty scary:

Subject: TERRI SCHIAVO TO DIE IN ATTORNEY'S "DEATH FACTORY"? SUNCOAST HOSPICE BOSS WAS GEORGE FELOS...
Time: 3:23:00 PM EST
Author: justice1949

Terri Schiavo, an incapacitated but warmly responsive young woman, is in the care of "The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast" ("Hospice House Woodside") at 300 East Bay Drive, Largo, Florida. But unknown to her advocates, all of Terri's medical care has been influenced by a Past Chairman of the Hospice's Board of Directors - George J. Felos, attorney for Michael Schiavo, and self-described "right-to-die" advocate.

Many of the Hospice nurses, volunteers, and doctors who are charged with the care, feeding, and unbiased medical evaluation of Terri Schiavo worked for George J. Felos, a man who has publically proclaimed that Terri must die.

The death Felos has prescribed for Terri starts with a ban on all but the most basic physical care - the once beautiful woman rots in her "Hospice of the Florida Suncoast" bed; Terri's advocates claim her teeth are unbrushed, her nails untrimmed, her infections untreated. This was not always the case - even after her brain injury, Terri's parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, kept her groomed and pretty. Terri was even starting to speak again - words like "yes" "no" and "stop that" - but that was before Michael Schiavo hired George Felos to help his wife "die with dignity". Now, Terri's parents have been safely removed so as to avoid "false hope". All media and medical access is tightly controlled by Micheal Schiavo and Felos; in response, Terri has at last physically and mentally degenerated to the level where she may be exterminated by polite society.

"That last phrase of Michael's quote in the article sounds like something that Scott Peterson might say."

The similarities between the two of them is striking. I've thought so all along. They even look alike.

My response didn't seem to answer your question? You read my essay and Johansen's article that fast? Or had you already read them?

I don't have a better answer than to say I think it unlikely, but if I felt that real experts had given the necessary tests (which they haven't, yet), and a respectable examination (which hasn't been given, yet) had confirmed Greer's conclusion, I would re-think at that time.

I don't have a predetermined opinion on this specific case. What I think today is based on the facts I have seen to date. If the array of facts change as you suppose, then so may my opinion.

"And what if your spouse didn't tell you ..."

Hey, there's that possibility. I would suggest that if don't trust your spouse that you get a living will and take that decision away from them.

But Michael didn't request that the feeding tube be removed. He waited 8 years, then requested that a court hear testimony from doctors and those Terri talked to regarding her wishes.

Michael and two others testified under oath that she told them she'd rather not live that way. The judge accepted that testimony and the testimony of two doctors.

So, WTF are you talking about?

"Wouldn't it be nice if others stepped in on your behalf?"

Stay away from me, Miz "I know better than your spouse what you really want" do-gooder. I trust my spouse to carry out my will, not some stranger with an agenda, an agenda driven more by hatred of the surviving spouse than the wishes of the striken.

'"To make comments that Terri would want to live, how do they know?' Schiavo said" How does this nut know she wants to die? Has he been secretly talking with her? This guy is a real jewel.

You didn't ask me, but I've asked myself that question a few times. My answer is always, it's one thing if she's as her "loving husband" claims AND if they can prove she actually requested to die rather than live on in this way (so far, we don't really know--her family says it's not true, her "husband" and a couple of his supporters say it is true--several years after the event and just after receiving the large monetary settlement).

But if she is as he says, and if she had actually requested death over life, then perhaps I might shut up and let it be, EXCEPT for the starving/dehydration. Anyone telling you that dying this way is not painful either doesn't know what they're talking about, or they're lying through their teeth. I find it deeply disturbing that so many people drone on and on about all the pain she's been in for all these years, and then turn around and say she won't feel any pain during this ordeal. Liars and hypocrites.

Very interesting link. However it is just a piece of paper with words.

No signature; no date; no witness.

I can't wait 'til next week to see Michael Schiavo squirming before Congress. He's going to have to answer the questions you posed and many more. For example, why hasn't he allowed Terri out of hospice into the fresh air for over three years? For God's sake! And why has Terri been dumped in hospice where she receives no therapy/rehab? Why has he not allowed a swallow test lately in light of new developments and advances in the field? Why has he, Terri's legal guardian, allowed Terri's arms to become malformed (which is irreversible). Why did he neglect Terri's dental care? Why did he not file proper guardianship reports? Etc etc etc etc etc.

The Hospice administrator also is supposed to testify. Can't for that!!! She has been a party to Terri's abuse, neglect and exploitation. She has broken the law by housing Terri in hospice. You're supposed to be terminally ill and expected to die within six months for hospice to kick in. Terri isn't dying (well, except for STARVATION) and in fact Terri has never been even sick.

Can't wait 'til next week. Hope Terri is still around. She's the only innocent party in this whole mess and they want her outta here!

I have learned many important lessons through all of this - one is that I AM DEATHLY AFRAID OF HOSPICE NOW! And I used to have such a great image in my mind about hospice. I think I'll make an advance directive that says: "If I am ever incapacitated, please please don't put me in a hospice!"

It is tremendously bad juju for the HINO to mess with the man who technically IS the House of Representatives.

Did you know that two others, one of them Terri's best friend, testified under oath the she told them the same thing that she told Michael? That she would not want to live that way?

If you did not know these facts maybe you'll feel differently.

Exactly.

all the rest that want to keep chiming in with how YOU wouldn't want to live that way. It isn't about YOU.
Be fair. The majority of us were raised with the notion that we should treat others as we wish to be treated. This is, potentially, about each of us.

"Does Michael want to go after the mentally retarded next? The handicapped? The homeless?"

No; that would be Felos and Greer. They're the ones with the agenda. Michael just wants "the b*tch" dead so he can get on about collecting on book/movie deals and insurance, and put away his fears for once and for all over the possibility of her ever regaining the ability to speak and tell HER side of the story.

We have only hearsay by an interested party to tell us about Terri's wishes.

We don't know Terri's wishes at all.

Perhaps you made a better choice in spouses than Terri--or for that matter, Laci Peterson--did. I know I did, yet I still have it spelled out on paper. But that's just me--make it clear. And frankly--I'd rather be known as a "do-gooder" than as a murderer like Michael Schiavo--or as a proponent of murder, as some here are.

"wow!!! when did that affidavit become available?"

I don't know when it became available, but I DO know that I read it through a link posted here on Free Republic when Michael tried to have her murdered the last time.

The MSM has chosen NOT to make much of the available information about Terri's actual condition and prognosis known to the public. There is another, more sinister agenda at work here. Anyone who believes that the deliberate murder of this woman WON'T open the doors to many many more cases just like this one, is foolish and naive.

I worked as a nurse in several long term care facilities. There were always several poor souls who had deteriorated to such an extent that they were depended on mechanical feeding, tube feeding. I can clearly see the time approaching, if this murder is allowed to proceed, when these people will be routinely "allowed" to die by starvation. A very public precedent will have been set by Terri's case, and the merchants of death will not hesitate to leap upon it and use it.

Given the circumstances around Michael S., I think his word is worthless as to what his wife wanted.

But it was her wish that she not live like a vegetable.

We don't KNOW that, you might believe it, but it won't make it so.

She wouldn't have to live like a vegetable if her 'loving husband' hadn't spent half a million dollars of her health care trust on lawyers trying to KILL HER.
