A mentally disabled woman whose court ordered starvation-execution began Friday attempted to contradict her estranged husband's claim that she wants to die hours before her feeding tube was disconnected, an eyewitness is claiming.
Barbara Weller, an attorney for Terri Schiavo's parents, told reporters Friday afternoon that during her visit earlier in the day she told Ms. Schiavo:
"Terri, if you would just say, 'I want to live,' - all of this will be over."
According to pro-life activist Randall Terry, who recounted the scene to radio host Sean Hannity, Schiavo tried desperately to repeat Weller's words.
"'I waaaaannt . . .' Schiavo allegedly said, in a prolonged yell that had police stationed nearby running into her hospice room.
"She just started yelling, 'I waaaannt, I waaaannt,'" Terry said, according to Weller's account.
At that point police ejected Weller, he said.
Come on, can't you see the fact Schiavo strangled her, never called 911, and wants her dead because she is evidence.Corruption running rampant.
I have to wonder if you do really think like this or if your disdain for anything or anyone 'Christian' trumps all good sense in you mind.
This matter is all about Terri Schiavo's God-given right to life, liberty & happiness.
You might wish to acquaint yourself with the true intent of our Founding Fathers.
Come on, can't you see the fact Schiavo strangled her, never called 911, and wants her dead because she is evidence.
Mourn not the dead that in the cool earth lie-
Dust unto dust-
The calm, sweet earth that mothers all who die
As all men must;
Mourn not your captive comrades who must dwell-
Too strong to strive-
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell,
Buried alive;
But rather mourn the apathetic throng-
The cowed and the meek-
Who see the world's great anguish and its wrong
And dare not speak!
Years ago, my friend's sister was strangled by her husband during an argument.
She spent almost two years in a coma before dying.
The husband's family was well-connected to the local police, and he was never charged.
"I don't understand why so many are determined that Terri must die this horrible death and get such an enjoyment out of this."
I can't either, Dante. And as I'm reading some of these posts from some of our long-time Freepers who are advocating her death, I feel so sad to see this happening to Free Republic. Its like reading stuff on DU.
You would think that in view of the Scott Peterson and Mark Hacking cases, there would not be much sympathy for Michael in view of all of his lies, vicious tricks and mistresses. And the then Sheriff Rice even refused to investigate Terri's case. Certainly Terri received none of the widespread sympathy that Laci and Lori received.
The police search all visitors.
"It might not have been Terri but Barbara Weller. It doesnt mention any neutral observers."
Is Michael a neutral observer? Or euthanasia activist George Felos? How about Judge Greer? Is he neutral?
I dont want anyone feeding that girl
.the rule of law is that this girl must die.
(The above is a quote from Judge Greer when Terri's sister and brother tried to have Terri fed when they removed her feeding tube, in the past.)
"How about the fact that Terri could walk and eat with help when Michael cut off her rehabilitation? "
My God. I didn't know she had been able to walk and eat previously. Something smells and it ain't the garbage.
I don't think I can even watch the news today. I cannot take all of this continuous news about Terri.
The liberals just can't be happy unless they are shedding the blood of the innocent.
I didnt realize the husband was well connected.
In cases involving high emotion, I guess few would be neutral but as Ive never put a whole lot of faith in gossip or attorneys, I would tend to believe Terris doctors.
Several posters have pointed out that the sheriff never investigated the case.
The effect would be the same, I guess.
My original point, however, was that sometimes people do get away with murder.
Are you talking about the umpteen doctors that said Terri can be rehabilitated, or Michael's chosen pro-death doctors?
Just asking.
"Well it's irrelevant anyway because Terri clearly does not have PVS..."
??? What clear signs does she have that don't fit the description I found ?
"Most patients in PVS continue to breathe on their own, circulate blood normally, have periods of waking and sleeping, may move their limbs, smile, shed tears and respond to external stimuli. Some may grunt, groan or scream."
Terri Shiavo does not want to die. She demonstrated this when a counselor told her over the phone that some wanted to kill her if she did not prove that she was not comatose. She tried desperately to get out of her chair.

Terri Schiavo Can Still be Rehabilitated, Nobel Prize-Nominated Doctor Says
Life Site News ^ | March 7, 2005 | Steven Ertelt
Clearwater, FL (LifeNews.com) -- Despite the contention of Terri Schiavo's estranged husband Michael and courts that have allowed him to starve her to death, a doctor nominated for the Nobel Prize says he believes medical therapies are still available that could help Terri partly recover from her disabled state.
Dr. William Hammesfahr is an internationally recognized expert on cases of brain-injured patients. He has been identified in helping patients with chronic brain injuries from many causes actually leave long term disability, and return to work.
Terri Schiavo's injury, hypoxic encephalopathy, is a type of stroke that he treats every day with success.
"We, and others I know, have treated many patients worse than Terri and have seen them regain independence and dignity," Hammesfahr said.
"There are many approaches that would help Terri Schiavo," Dr. Hammesfahr explained. "I know, because I had the opportunity to personally examine her, her medical records, and her X-rays."
"It is time to help Terri, instead of just warehousing her," he added. "She would have benefited from treatment years ago, but it is not too late to start now."
