bc-DeLay-Schiavo DeLay: Terri Schiavo is Alive - This Fight is Not Over; House Continues to Work to Save Terri Schiavo

House Majority Leader Tom DeLay
WASHINGTON, March 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today delivered the following remarks at a press availability on the House of Representatives' efforts to save the life of Terri Schiavo:
"It is now one o'clock on the East Coast, the time preordained by a Florida state judge to allow for denial of food and water to Terri Schiavo. This act of barbarism can be, and must be, prevented. The Senate has before it the Protection of Incapacitated Persons Act of 2005. This bill is the right thing to do. Unfortunately, they have chosen to adjourn rather than pass it.
"Those senators responsible for blocking the bill yesterday afternoon, Senators Boxer, Wyden, and Levin, have put Mrs. Schiavo's life at risk to prove a point - an unprecedented profile in cowardice. The American people are not interested in squabbles between Republicans and Democrats, or between the House and Senate. They care, and we care, about saving Terri Schiavo's life. The House bill will do that.
"Terri Schiavo is alive. She is not 'barely alive.' She is not 'being kept alive.' She is as alive as you or I, and as such we have a moral obligation to protect and defend her from the fate premeditated by the Florida courts. This is not over. We are still working, so are Mrs. Schiavo's lawyers, and so is the Florida state legislature. This is not over.
"To friends, family, and millions of people praying around the world this Palm Sunday weekend: do not be afraid. Terri Schiavo will not be forsaken."
All government has one purpose to protect the individual, and when any Government, local, state, or Federal violates that responsibility it must be resisted.
The Federal Government has every right to protect the individual from abuse by local and state governments.
At least do us the courtesy of putting something new in each post. Can you imagine how unreadable this forum would be if everyone did what you are doing?
I'm favoring the National Guard solution. I hope Jeb doesn't have any wicked advisors counseling him otherwise.
Terri ping! If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!
His words sound good...now let's see some results.
They think we have short memories about poor Terri. Hah!
SENATOR FEINSTEIN'S HORSE SLAUGHTER BILL
A bill worthy of support will be introduced soon in Congress by California's Senator Dianne Feinstein to prohibit the slaughter of American horses for human consumption abroad. The Bill will be referred to as SB(number to come) Feinstein Bill and will probably be referred to merely as the Horse Slaughter Bill.As Americans, most of us were shocked to learn that this odious, ugly and gut-wrenching practice even exists. Why? The reason is simple. Horse slaughter, or the slaughter of our pleasure, nonfood animals, is not and never will be part of our culture.
Me, too. At least she wouldn't feel abandoned by caring people, like Michael wants her to feel.
>>Rep Tom Delay Slams Senate Dems Boxer, Wyden, and Levin for allowing Terri Shiavo to Die.
I don't see how that will fly. Every republican in this country can understand how the bast@rds with a (D) after their name might want to kill her, but then THEY are in the MINORITY.
The blame can only go to the (R) party.
What good is electing a majority of (R) grifters if they do us no more good than the evil ones.
bttt. judge greer is in contempt of congress today. he had the feeding tube pulled this afternoon. when will he be arrested? I am shocked Judge Greer is still on the bench, in a murder spree that won't end with Terri.
Looks like some dims are fixin' to get themselves unelected!
< nit-picking > Um, I think you over stated the number of babies killed. It's 45 million, not billion. Still a huge and unacceptable number. < /nit-picking >
Let's hope Feinstein makes sure to include a provision that allows the slaughter of horses whose philandering mates say they wanted to be slaughtered.
I have a question.
Whatever happened to:
"inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
????????
True, but some things are spam-worthy.
Can you not scroll past it?
It takes less than a second to scroll past the post if you want to do that.
Now, if it starts getting posted on every thread more than once or starts showing up on every thread tomorrow, then it will begin to get annoying...
VERY intelligent post.
thanks.
On 30 threads?
I strongly suggest everyone who hasn't done so, makes a Living Will, otherwise some judge may decide you're taking up too much space.
Are you the posting police? If you have a problem with Geek, you could post a private message to him. Explain how your post helps this thread!
