That just brought tears to my eyes. Every Freeper needs to read your story and what you overcame.
Here in this area we have the Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Hospital that has given so much hope to people that were no given no hope. People have walked who they said couldn't walk, people after strokes where told they were going to be paralyzed but have learned to button their own clothes which sounds small but is a huge step for them. So much progress has been made and continues to be made that your story and others like it happen and this woman needs to be allowed to see if there is a miracle around the corner for her.
Without rehabilitation no one will ever know -- she deserves that chance.

Sometimes I wish we were back in 1776. Back then, people stood up for what they believed in - even when it meant risking it all in the process.

Indeed. Tolkien was actually a devout Christian, whose stories were morality tales in which the good and righteous (Gandalf-very much written as a man of God, though God was not directly referred to as Tolkien did not want to blaspheme) triumphed over darkenss and evil (Sauron = Satan).
If only someone in Terri's case would have the courage and opportunity of Pippin and Gandalf, who ran into the throne room and pushed Faramir off of the funeral pyre, saving his life. But life can not be written as we go, and the good guys don't always win. Though I wish she would be rescued instead, my only comfort is the ultimate judgment that awaits Michael Schiavo, and the ulitmate reward in heaven awaiting Terri.
I don't know how she got this way. I'm mystified as to why her husband is trying to starve her. He has been offered a divorce, and two different people have offered him large sums of cash to turn her over to her parents and just walk away (one offer for $1,000,000 and one for $10,000,000). I heard he has another woman and a couple of kids with her. For some reason he really really wants Terri dead.
