Double Standard here. A MALE would have been led away to jail. I'm not in favor of "warehousing" of "perps", but she should at least get a year, or maybe at least 6 months and to begun immediatly.

It reminds me of a SEINFIELD episode, when Seinfield got a speeding ticket, and his pretty girlfriend talked the PO-Leeece man out of the ticket, due to her beauty.

She should go to prison while a reduced sentence is contemplated. One way or the other, she's going.

No arguement there. But...the woman has been convicted and even if she gets the treatment for 1st time offenders, her sentence will be two years. Still think she should have gone to the pokey from sentencing.

I thought she was on her way but I guess I did not hear the whole story. Thanks for the ping.

I believe that the proper conservative perspective on drunk driving is that the laws are way too harsh and that MADD needs to be dethoned.

What if there'd been no alcohol involved, and the driver had simply allowed herself to be distracted by her daughter's kicking/tantrum? Some type of manslaughter sentence? Unintentional? Probation, community service?
