On the contrary, I'm sure what she said to him about the murder of their loved ones is an immense comfort to them.

Of that I have no doubt. But what about the feeling sorry for him part? The other victims families probably don't feel sorry for him and hope no one else feels sorry for him yet here they are hearing "I feel sorry for him", from the least injured victim, on national T.V.

She may be gilding the the lily a bit. I wasn't a little fight it was a very big brawl in a parking lot at an apartment complex.

I am still combing the archives, information on the forum there indicates it was about drugs.

It's not really more risky to have the cops after him in his car with no guns, than in a crowded apartment complex with all his guns, is it?

She made several moves that were either miraculous or something entirely different. Most here say miraculous. I'm open to that possibility, but not sure yet. Time will tell.

Once she sped off and called 911- if there had been a shoot out- it would seem that the only one in danger-would have been Nichols.

If she sped off, he would speed off as well, leading to at the very least a chase that would have put a lot of people at risk. Escape, he's done before. It would not have been as clean as it eventually turned out. Had her gamble failed, there'd be a little more rationale to criticize, but as it is, she won the gamble. It could not have turned out better.

She had to be terrified the whole time, but her need to survive led her to humanize him. He had to be exausted from what he did, with no sleep and the horror he knew he did. she knew that, and had no other choice but to subdue him to make time to get out of there.

Why do all of you continually say we are ragging on her for what she did? That is not the issue. The issue is what she did afterwards.

She did win the gamble, you are absolutely correct.

I'm sorry you can't understand the "sorry for him" part.

You're making it into something it's not.

If some liberal democrat defense lawyer said the things about him that she did; ie, "didn't mean to do it", "wasn't really him", "misunderstood", etc., you and everyone else here would be all over them.

The guy sounds like he might have been conflicted. She may just be having a hard time saying that. Others that claimed to know him say the same thing about him. What's the big deal?

Actually, I'm a fairminded person and I would evaluate the person's actual words, tone and demeanor and judge accordingly.

And probably correctly.

Oh really? hmmmmm.

She had several opportunities to get away and didn't take one of them. She allowed herself to be inserted into the situation. She knew all of Atlanta was searching for the killer. She had her cell phone with her all the time. They were in separate cars.

She had opportunities to extricate herself from the situation and didn't.

I hate sinners who massacre innocent people. Forgiveness is God's job, not mine. 190 posted on 03/14/2005 4:26:05 PM CST by pbrown (Islam and Christianity do not mix ----9-11 taught us that) [ Post Reply | Private Reply | To 182 | View Replies | Report Abuse ]

I hope the victims families feel that way too. Although I have no way of knowing how they feel about it, I'm relatively sure I can say it's one of the last things they want to hear at the moment.

Whatever this gal had to do or say to stay alive was heroic -up until she helped Nichols move the dead INS agent's SUV. The dynamics of this story changed when she did that.

That is correct, but not in the way you think. It is when he began to decide to let her go.

"For someone who's just gone through an ordeal she sure recovered quickly."

She's not a robot. I just don't understand people who think people should just act a certain way and all after just going through something like this. Seems to me she has a strong faith in God and that grace and calmness is from that faith.

his defiant attitude since his arrest is evidence of the "heart of God"?
--

Has what's his face (Brian?) assaulted anyone since noon yesterday? You don't make sense....The heart of God can talk to you when ever you want it. All you have to do is seek it and you'll find. That's what he said we should do. Seek Him we'll find Him.. Evidently they were seeking it's not for me or you to judge who touches the heart of God or whose heart God touches. I just know it when I see it. The Apostle Paul Murdered how many Christians before God Saved Him? God can deliver from darkness whomever HE want's at anytime HE wants.

She said she was afraid the police would surround the car and she would be in a hostage situation or their would be some other dangerous situation. She seemed to have a since that the right thing to do was get him back to her apartment.Seems her instincts were right.
