Absolutely. But take comfort in this: If an actor or actress is suddenly very vocal about their "politics" it usually means that their career is in the toilet (Whoopie Goldberg) :-D
patriotism and communism are not mutually exclusive, but that comment was made in jest and not even my point. the point being that I have no reason to believe that Paul Newman doesn't love America.
Oh YES!! But as PN says, "It's the medias fault for not being more aggressive and persistent and nasty and HE thinks its the peoples fault for not paying attention."
In other words the RIGHT WING media is not doing it's job to take down GW and besides the 60 million people who voted for GW are too stupid to understand what HE and his LEFTISTS cowards already KNOW!
yeah,...but still,...There's No Fool Like An Old FOOL
Newman is another actor who thinks fame brings wisdom that he should lavish on his public. Too bad. He should stick to selling himself and his salad dressing.
Newman is one of the scumbags that helps fund The Nation, a rag of a magazine that thought Joe Stalin was just swell.
"patriotism and communism are not mutually exclusive"
I agree with you Professor Churchill and I'm sure that Castro and Kim would agree with you.
From Websters online I found that "patriot" is derived from the greek word "patrios", meaning "of one's fathers". So unless our founding fathers were communists apparently in this country you cannot be a communist and a patriot.
I am not an expert here so if anyone can shed any further light on this please do.
More 'nasty'? So Newman would be remembered as a public candidate AND a wicked old man? I wonder if Redford will follow? I can't imagine what further accusations Newman would hurl that aren't already by CNN, NBC, etc.
Damn. That was good.
What's wrong...you got some Primordial mud in your gills?
A guy was waiting in line for a movie that had both Newman and Tom Cruise in it. A couple of kids in line behind him; one asks the other, "Who's in this movie?" To which the other replies, "Tom Cruise and some old guy."
I like Paul Newman. He is a decent man living a decent life. That he disagrees with me on politics doesn't bother me at all.
You know that checkmark on posts that says I have already previewed this post? I need to actuallypay attention to it. After reading your post I reread what I wrote. I meant to say just because I don't agree with his politics does not mean I don't think other things he does aren't good. Oops! A couple letters can make a big difference.
Hey, Paul...hope a good chunk of those chartiable donations went to diabetes foundations, since so much of your "organic, healthy foods" are loaded to the hilt with high fructose corn syrup. 20 million people walking around with Type II diabetes, many of them without a clue. Many of them consume YOUR products. Thanks, Paul. Jerk.
Bad move. The stuff is loaded with high fructose corn syrup...deadly stuff.
Lieberman has been steadfast in the WOT, and has been helpful on other issues as well.
He's not 'conservative', but he deserves some credit. He's certainly a patriot, which is something I can't say about far too many members of his party today.
