This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
This really shows that lawyers have too much latitude. They want to have a jury who has essentially no knowledge about what the criminal may have done. This is not a fair jury, this is a over the top too fair a jury. If one of the lawyers wants to use a preemptive challenge, thats another matter. But if you know something about drugs, it should not disqualify you. If you are a drug user, then you would be disqualified.

So this rotten mother****er did it all nice and slow and calm-like. It wasn't a quick break, it was a slow deliberate murder.

You know how sometimes a trivial scene will stick in your mind? Can't forget a working party I saw...sailors busting hump getting cases of soda on board, carrying two, three, four cases at a time...and here comes two (fairly attractive) girlies in dungarees, each with *one* box of styrofoam cups, bumping shoulders, talking away, mouths moving about six times as fast as their feet...

Not according to a report I just heard. He took his time once he got the gun, ordering people to be handcuffed, then killing the judge nice and deliberate-like.
Well, I think they should be. Life experience is what should give people wisdom. The system depends on it.

That's yet another reason why I have SEVERELY cut back on my work and only work for about four attorneys I really like.
I'm kinda hoping he will attempt to go through Kennesaw. Isn't that where all of the male residents (without criminal records, etc) are required by law to be armed? They'd be ready for him.
Wonder if the bailiff is one of the wounded/dead deputies?
Most cops carry two pairs of handcuffs in a double-pouch. There weren't likely many pairs of them to go around.
So, if I'm called to a trial for, say, a guy who murdered somebody with carbon monoxide, I should be able to put MY experiences aside and give him a fair trial?
I don't think so.
