This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.
THta's not it..this piece says the 43 will soon appoint 42 to be the Mid-east coordinator..Rush was going nuts..
For crying out loud we don't even know that it was the female whose gun was taken!!!
In fact, the way the conversations are going on Fox, they seem to be assuming it was the male (which makes sense because the perp was ALONE with the deputy in a side room).
I give credit for the manufacturer of those pants. A lesser pair would have had a blowout by now.
That does it! I'm dumping all the UNIX servers here at work and switching to Windows! ;-)
"Isn't she on RENO 911?"
The resemblance is striking
No way...that is incredible! Boy have I been out of touch....I just assumed that criminals, ecspecially those on trial for violent crimes would be restrained in some way.
Not to be funny... but let's hope they learn from what just happened.
Yep, they charge into the face of danger with a steno pad and pen in hand. [/sarc]
LOL. Good one.
A Fulton County judge being interviewed is saying that a CIVIL hearing was going on in the courtroom at the time of the attack. The criminal rape trial had not resumed. I wonder if that lowered the amount of security.
He also says that he has always been very comfortable with the security at the courthouse.
LOL
It will happen over and over again. Atlanta has no intention of abolishing its patronage system. Some people are just too stupid to live.
Usually they will order them shackled if they exhibit any outbursts or violent behavior in the courtroom, but again that would be after the fact.
I think the deputy that was killed was outside when shot. I think.
Watch out. Your post might become the source material for replacing "shower girl".
I believe that person is mistaken. The prisoners are brought into the courtroom BEFORE the jury arrives. The prisoners are shackled as they are first brought into the juryless courtroom. Once IN the courtroom and just before the jury enters the restraints are removed.
It may vary based on physical set up of the court BUT the restraints are removed at the last possible step.

What kind of weapon could he have snuck in that could have killed 3 or 4 people before he was killed? Not likely, unless it was a firearm.
Yeah, Fox-5 is reporting that he is a Unix Administrator at UPS.
A fulton county judge is also saying that Nichols came through Judge Barnes' back door.
That's an interesting detail.
