This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Get ahold of yourself! You're not even making sense!
We're not on the same page. Heck, we ain't even in the same book. No offense.
Well yeah, obviously, but I'm not thinking the court reporter was enough of a threat to kill him. Even if this was vengeance, the D.A. was unharmed.
The only thing I can think of is if the court reporter tried to subdue the gunman...
Catch him, try him, convict him, and fry him!
I must have missed that one!
FYI: The NY Times is trying to link this shooting and the Lefkow shootings to general attacks on the judicial establishment.
Yes, which makes it pretty amazing that they weren't more careful with him.
It was just on CNN. They were showing a report from some local station. The reporter said she was shot through the mouth and has now come out of surgery. The original story I heard said it was a male who was shot in the back of the head and killed. The story could change again.
Thanks for linking that account!
I believe that Towne Lake might be in Cobb County. Another post mentioned that Cobb is out of session today for a teacher's work day. Fulton County is also out today. Gwinett and DeKalb are in session though.
That's exactly what some people seem to want, and I hope for their sakes they don't get their wishes then get falsely accused.
We tend to have more teacher workdays than you can shake a stick at.
That is why our kids start school the beginning of August every year. (Silently slipping in a 12 mo. calender, but that's not for this thread LOL)
Heartless, and smug about it.
Unbelieveable.
They can only kill the spirit if given the power to do so. Are you really being serious here?
You're cold. Proud of yourself, are you? Why don't you take a hike? (I know, I know. You're probably saying that you're just standing up for your principles. But frankly, my dear, we don't give a damn for such 'principles' as wishing death on anyone w/differing political views.)
Oh, yeah. It's pulled now, but I did see it.http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/post?id=1360731%2C1167
Thanks.
Paging Judge Roy Bean
None taken I just am a bit more literal than you I think.
There is no need for those kind of comments When her highness fainted I was one of the first to offer prayers even though I really don't like her.
I'm betting it's over 50/50 he will never see the inside of a Courtroom again, and I'll just keep the donations, thank you very much.
Depends. He'll likely live if caught in Fulton, Clayton or Dekalb. I'd give him 50-50 in Cobb or Gwinette (spelling?). Elsewhere in Georgia, I'd bet against a trial.
