Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)
WAGA-TV/WSB-TV Atlanta | 3.11.05

Posted on 03/11/2005 6:39:06 AM PST by mhking

This is a breaking news situation.

A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.

The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.

I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

I don't know if you were trying to be humerous, but you added a little "cuteness" to this awful situation. :)

Regardless of who he was, he's now dead.

A man who is hopped up on adrenaline because he's planning to escape or die trying can catch a person who's doing "business as usual" off guard...Even a trained police officer.

Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket? Guessing the cop caught you off guard. Ever get in a traffic accident? Somebody got under your radar.

We know nothing about the physical builds of the two men in question or what distractions may have been happening at the moment. Please don't be so quick to rush to judgment when the facts are not known. If he made a mistake, he paid for it with his life. If he was a victim of circumstance, the end result is no less sad and infuriating.

Ok, I'm kinda late to this party, but as far as I can tell, 3 people are dead, the psycho is still on the loose, and an inappropraite comment was made on the thread.

Is that about the jist of it here?

Apparently, I wounded the sensibilities with my comments.

Lily: No problem. We have all said stupid things in the heat of the moment. The difference between us and liberals is that while we have emotions, we are not ruled by them.

Wait a second. lilylangtree didn't apologize for saying it, only that it "wounded the sensibilities".

The whole thing is a horrible tragedy. This is the same judge that was the topic of several threads on FR involving an ordered sterilization of a mother who killed her infant.Judge ordered Sterilized.

My mother in Paennsylvania just called me to make sure my kids are okay because Fox is reporting school children are in danger!

Kids are not in school today. School workday.

You missed the ongoing side discussion that has been objected to. Otherwise, that pretty much covers it.

Wasn't shackled because the bleeding heart defense lawyers didn't like the "negative image" it broadcast to the jury.

Let's not get carried away. Its doubtful that anyone would ever get a fair trial if they were shackled. It doesn't take a bleeding heart defense lawyer to realize that. How many times does something like this happen? Its not like it is very common.

Why not just skip the trials altogether?

MSNBC news-reader-ette was also saying the area schools were on lockdown.

Maybe they need to contact CNN so they can get up to date information.
