Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)

This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

Well, I agree, but I guess I shouldn't reply as extraneous talk seems to offend some people. :-)

Fox is driving me crazy with the "school kids in lock down" comments.
Today is a teacher workday in Fulton County. Children are not in school today. Teachers are probably there but kids are not in lockdown.
I have tried calling Fox News to set them straight but can only leave a message.

Jonathan Serrie reporting the perp was not in shackles because the shackles had the effect of insinuating a presumption of guilt.
All hail political correctness.

IMO, the level of drama by the news people is directly proportional to the level of actual news coming out. This is a very dramatic story, but right now we have very little that is actually new. So, Greg (former Court TV reporter) must keep his own personal drama level very high.
New news low=news anchor drama level high
This is usually when they start asking very dumb, very repetitive questions, too.

Held hostage for over 2 hours. Fox News.

I'm not complaining about folks "mucking up the thread" though.
As they go, this ones pretty average IMHO.

"This guy was not awaiting trial in jail. He was free to leave after the proceedings after every session. He was in street clothes, no cuffs. He was out on bond."
Kind of makes you wonder how someone caught trying to smuggle a shank into the courtroom last week was allowed to come and go as he pleases.

I was carping about the MORALIZING by some about the EMTs; somebody with an obvious "view" about women in general.

Apparently, I wounded the sensibilities with my comments.
Lily: No problem. We have all said stupid things in the heat of the moment. The difference between us and liberals is that while we have emotions, we are not ruled by them.
To: Howlin
There is only so much news thus far.
Piffle. And I post this extraneously. It doesn't take a lot to scroll past comments one doesn't want to read. FR is not supposed to be the equivalent as a police scanner.
We are listening to extraneous comments by the newsies. And a continutal restatement of what is known to this point.
You comment all you want to....at least that's MY vote.

Yep, you are right. I guess they have to fill time. But the comment about schoolchildren, well, that was over the top. IMHO.
