IMO, the level of drama by the news people is directly proportional to the level of actual news coming out. This is a very dramatic story, but right now we have very little that is actually new. So, Greg (former Court TV reporter) must keep his own personal drama level very high.

New news low=news anchor drama level high

This is usually when they start asking very dumb, very repetitive questions, too.

Yep, you are right. I guess they have to fill time. But the comment about schoolchildren, well, that was over the top. IMHO.
