Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)

This is a breaking news situation.

A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.

The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.

I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

I have a map of the internet on my cubicle wall. When I see the host that supports DU, I think to myself that is should say, "Here there be monsters..."

On topic, however, I don't think this guy will get far, or be on the loose for very long. Something like this galvanizes the public and law enforcement in ways that cannot be described. You may elude the police, but at some point you have to face the public.

That question posed to all potential jurors is an important question; "can you be fair"?
If you felt you could not than you did the honorable thing. I would like to think that fair-minded people would answer that question honestly.
I sat on a murder trial last year. I thought the whole process was beyond fascinating. I was intrigued from the moment I entered the courtroom and they began the jury selection process. I recall them asking potential jurors those very questions about their life experiences as it pertained to the case. I found myself hoping I would be selected and I was. I sat through the entire trial, a week and a half, and I ended up being the 13th juror!!!!!!
Talk about being depressed!!!!!!!!! After all that I wanted my opinion to count!

This guy was not awaiting trial in jail. He was free to leave after the proceedings after every session. He was in street clothes, no cuffs. He was out on bond.

Local Fox reporter is now confirming the reports that he overpowered a deputy, shot him in the head and then forced another deputy to handcuff others. The reporter said that he interviewed a DA for this information.

The court reporter was also shot in the head.

I highly doubt that this guy will be taken alive.

I think it's time for good ole fashioned handcuffs in court again. I had no idea they took them off for trials, as to not "suggest" anything. How absurd! It's too bad that innocent lives were lost because this lunatick was without restraints.
