FREEP - Fayetteville NC, 3/19 "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" (and counterprotest the 5th Column Marxists)
Old North State Chapter ^ | 3/4/05 | Old North State Chapter of Free Republic

Edited on 03/05/2005 8:14:51 AM PST by Lead Moderator. [history]

Once again, busloads of leftist activists will descend upon Fayetteville, NC in an attempt to demoralize the will of our American troops by targetting their loved ones with antiwar drivel.

The choice of Fayetteville, NC, as a focal point of their propaganda campaign, is due to the fact that it is the home of Ft. Bragg (and the 82nd Airborne) as well as the Pope Airforce Base. The leftists will march with socialist banners and bring out an array of speakers decrying the war and advocating every variety of left-wing topic from Marxism and socialism to special "rights" for homosexuals to secularism to pro-Hezbollah Palestinianism. (Seriously - last year they all were really there!)

The unifying factor of all of these groups is anti-Americanism utilizing continued propaganda themes of "Bush lied" and "No blood for oil". The mob will also import a number of speakers who have allegedly lost loved ones in Iraq, and will create some sort of symbolic display reflecting the number of dead. (They have used pairs of boots and black umbrellas in the past.) They will (undoubtedly through an unintentional oversight) neglect to display any symbolism reflecting the number of Americans killed in the WTC, or Iraqis killed by Saddam or Women beaten by the Taliban, or the number of Afghanis and Iraquis and Palestinians and Ukrainians and (soon) Egyptians who now have the ability to vote.

Last year, FReepers countered the leftwing protests with the added participation of Rolling Thunder, Protest Warriors, Vets and other patriotic Americans. This year, we'll do it again! We had lots of press coverage, and totally deflated the left's bubble. Families of our troops loved the fact that we were there!

Please join FReepers from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and DC in Fayetteville this year as once again we provide aid and comfort to American troops!

Most entrances to Ft. Bragg are closed to folks that don't have a DOD registration sticker in their windshield. If you don't have a decal, the only entrance you can use is the one off of All-American Freeway. At that one, they search your car. All of the other entrances are only for folks who have the decal.

Kristinn, can you find one of those invitations for Tax-chick, please?

The weather reports I saw this evening for Saturday do not mention rain for us. Maybe partly cloudy.

The entrance at Randolph St from Bragg Blvd also takes cars with no decals. They have been working to make it a main gate.

Any of you getting here on Friday can Freep mail me and I'll be glad to get you oriented as to where you might want to eat or whatever. I'm off from work until Sunday and will be getting my signs made and the finger painted on my white mitt.

Thanks! A copy of the menu, too, if you've got one left. I want to put them in my photo album. I suppose I should start saving up for 2009 already!

Just pulled this from Military.com

Any of you that live around Fayetteville or Fort Bragg, get your yellow ribbons, support your troops and whatever else you want together for next Saturday for the show down. All of us military families are meeting downtown. I'm ready to face these morons!!!! I thought I would let everyone know.

Is the plan to still meet across from Rowan Street park? If so at what time? The Motor Cycles are being prohibited by the Fayetteville Police. Anyone got a bull horn or some air horns? I will be there, so will my wife, so will my daughters if they don't have to work. Who else is going to be there? What is the uniform of the day?

Posted on the Army board (I don't post there and they may not take to kindly, but what the heck).

Just asking any Marine, Navy, Coast Gurad, AF, anybody that posts on any other board, to post a thread and get the word out!

Looks like a "yes" on the canopy question.

Good, I'll bring one.

Anyone bringing a table?

What's the power situation?

Does anyone have any unique name tags, maybe with the flag? We may need to keep the enemy out of camp. I can find some, let me know if I need to. We're running out of daylight.

At your service. Freepmail or post.

Nametags would be great, if you can find/print some! Avery address labels can be quick and fast...

Power is "battery" only.

Thank you, cf_river_rat! You're the best!

I will bring a generator. Everyone pease bring extension cords and power strips, I've got KW aplenty.

I have one (a canopy); should I bring it?

Please do. If we don't need it you can leave it in your trunk.

I am e-mailing bradandbritt@curtismedia.com right now, hoping for mentions Friday morning and offering links to the current threads. Text of my email:

OK guys, how about some air time? I'll bet every mention of this event nets the right 40% more participation than the left, maybe more.
