FREEP - Fayetteville NC, 3/19 "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" (and counterprotest the 5th Column Marxists)

Once again, busloads of leftist activists will descend upon Fayetteville, NC in an attempt to demoralize the will of our American troops by targetting their loved ones with antiwar drivel.

The choice of Fayetteville, NC, as a focal point of their propaganda campaign, is due to the fact that it is the home of Ft. Bragg (and the 82nd Airborne) as well as the Pope Airforce Base. The leftists will march with socialist banners and bring out an array of speakers decrying the war and advocating every variety of left-wing topic from Marxism and socialism to special "rights" for homosexuals to secularism to pro-Hezbollah Palestinianism. (Seriously - last year they all were really there!)

The unifying factor of all of these groups is anti-Americanism utilizing continued propaganda themes of "Bush lied" and "No blood for oil". The mob will also import a number of speakers who have allegedly lost loved ones in Iraq, and will create some sort of symbolic display reflecting the number of dead. (They have used pairs of boots and black umbrellas in the past.) They will (undoubtedly through an unintentional oversight) neglect to display any symbolism reflecting the number of Americans killed in the WTC, or Iraqis killed by Saddam or Women beaten by the Taliban, or the number of Afghanis and Iraquis and Palestinians and Ukrainians and (soon) Egyptians who now have the ability to vote.

Last year, FReepers countered the leftwing protests with the added participation of Rolling Thunder, Protest Warriors, Vets and other patriotic Americans. This year, we'll do it again! We had lots of press coverage, and totally deflated the left's bubble. Families of our troops loved the fact that we were there!

Please join FReepers from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and DC in Fayetteville this year as once again we provide aid and comfort to American troops!

Per the below thread, the Code Pinkos (look for strange women in pink behaving strangely) are lining up Fayetteville as their big East Coast event with some sort of peace ribbon panel:

Code Pink gears up for March 19th Protests
03.12.05

Posted on 03/12/2005 7:27:17 PM PST by Coleus

Today is a special day. It’s the 75-year anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s famous “salt march.” On March 12, 1930, Gandhi began a 240-mile march to nonviolently resist the British tax on salt and move India closer to independence from British rule. Gandhi changed India and the world, with his relentless, nonviolent struggle for peace and justice. (For more on Gandhi’s life, click here.)

Today is also important because it begins our 7-day countdown to the March 19 worldwide day of protest against the Iraq war. Next Saturday, people throughout the world will raise our voices on the two-year anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq to say NO to war, torture and occupation, and YES to international law, human rights, and respect our planet and its inhabitants!

We hope the life and philosophy of Gandhi will inspire you to join CODEPINK out on the streets on March 19. And if that's not enough inspiration, below we’ve provided some of our top reasons for opposing the Iraq war and occupation (below.) These are available as a flyer in PDF format on the website of our good friends at Global Exchange.

And here’s one more reminder of where CODEPINK will be focusing our energies on March 19:

Fayetteville, NC Home of Fort Bragg, 82nd Airborne, Special Forces
March 19 march and rally at Rowan Street Park, 11 AM 4 PM, with military families, veterans, and others. Click here for more information about CODEPINK’s plans:

San Diego, CA Home of Camp Pendleton
On Thursday, March 17, CODEPINK members and supporters begin a 40-mile peace procession from Oceanside Pier. The procession ends at the March 19 rally at Balboa Park, 2 PM. For more info check out our March 19 action page.

Peace Ribbon Project
CODEPINK is creating a peace “ribbon” with panels representing each life that has been claimed by the war in Iraq. This beautiful memorial will first be displayed on March 19 in Fayetteville. Please consider making a panel. Go to the Peace Ribbon page for more details.

Local Protests
See www.unitedforpeace.org to find out about March 19 protests planned in your city or town.

Let's join with the majority of the people in the world on March 19 and let them know we stand with them for peace! As Gandhi said, “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they seem invincible but in the end, they always fall -- think of it, ALWAYS.”

See you in the streets,
Andrea, Dana, Gael, Jodie, Medea, Nancy and Tiffany

[from the linked details of Fayetteville plans:

March 19: Fayetteville's PINK CORRAL Tailgate Party - On Rowan Street in the big parking lot. Breakfast, snack foods, drinks will be provided. In exchange for treats we will be accepting donations for Charlotte, NC CODEPINK's Sri Lankan Project and the Humanitarian Aid to Iraq Project. Please join us, meet your sisters in peace, and break bread together. If you want to volunteer or make food/drink donations please contact Michelle Bailey at [snip]

[Anybody want to make them a batch of pink tofu? They already have consumed mass quantities of pink Kool-Aid.]]

CLICK HERE FOR THE REST OF THAT THREAD.

With no recognition of the unintended irony, the Code Pinkos talk about tyrants and murderers falling. Yet, their founder Medea Benjamin wrote the "Cuba, Talking About Revolution" book praising Castro, an iron-fisted tyrant and mass murderer of over 40 years.

Many of the Code Pinkos will likely be wearing mainly pink with maybe a little black. The Code Pinkos have sometimes used pink slips and underwear as part of their ploys.

Code Pinkos infiltrated the Republican National Convention and, thanks to some Dem in Congress, got into the very close-in seats at the last inauguration. On both occasions, they disrupted speeches. I think it was VP Cheney's speech at the convention. At the inauguration, they disrupted the speech of President Bush. They've also disrupted Congressional hearings and FCC hearings.

Code Pink founder Suzie "Medea" Benjamin, shown above and widely viewed as the primary organizer behind the 1999 Seattle WTO riots, is a dedicated revolutionary disguised as a pacifist or near-pacifist.

Benjamin's Code Pink group is simply a marketing gimmick targeted at housewifes, mothers, and grandmothers. The Code Pinko top leaders soft pedal Marxist rhetoric. They tap funds, get bodies to populate demonstrations, and get access to potential recruits by the marketing ploy.

In similar fashion, Benjamin and cohorts have other groups to market various “flavors” of Marxist-Leninist or similar far-left revolutionary ideas to students, particular minorities, left-handed leprechauns, etc.

DC Chapter has had numerous counter-protests against Code Pink including outside Fox News in 2003 (click here for thread) and near the White House earlier that year where several FReepers suffered very minor assaults from Code Pinkos (click here for thread).

Last year Doctor Raoul had an up-close personal encounter with Medea Benjamin with a police officer intervening as Benjamin's’s peaceniks closed in on the solo FReeper. See Code Pinko Medea Benjamin Flees When Confronted by Doctor Raoul at Dover AFB, (click here for that thread).

A day later, Medea Benjamin was a deer in the headlights when FReeped by 3 DC Chapter FReepers from about 25 feet away as she and her group were outside the White House (click here for the specific encounter with Medea). The leftists had an obscene blood dance exploiting our war dead and wounded as propaganda tools by staging a mock two-day funeral march from Dover Air Force Base to Walter Reed Army Hospital (with Iraq war-wounded recuperating inside) to the White House.

A brief excerpt of background about Code Pink from this FrontPageMag.com article follows below:

Naturally, they’ve toned their Marxist rhetoric down for their stint with Code Pink. Though they’ve taken great pains to differentiate themselves from the other, more radical anti-war protesters, they are one and the same. The leaders of Code Pink didn’t merely take part in the Washington and San Francisco protests that made international headlines – they also organized them. In the process, they’ve provided a rare public glimpse of the faces behind the modern, highly organized American Marxist movement. Needless to say, these women have little in common with the carpool moms of America.

At the center of Code Pink is legendary leftist organizer Medea Benjamin, the 50-year-old mother of two widely credited as a chief organizing force behind the 1999 Seattle riots in which 50,000 protesters did millions of dollars worth of property damage in their effort to shut down meetings of the World Trade Organization. In addition to Code Pink, Benjamin’s San Francisco-based human rights organization Global Exchange was the founding force for United for Peace and Justice coalition, the nexus of the anti-war protests.

[snip]

The mindset of Benjamin and her friends can best be summed up by her description in the San Francisco Chronicle of how she felt on her first pilgrimage to Cuba in the early 1980s. Compared to life in the United States, the communist social equality of Cuba "made it seem like I died and went to heaven," Benjamin enthused. Now it appears that Benjamin is trying to recreate it here . . .[emphasis added]
