Corporate Exec Kushner Sentenced To 2 Years (massive bundling scam to DNC, Clintons, Torricelli)
POLITICAL MONEY LINE ^ | 3/4/05

Posted on 03/04/2005 1:37:18 PM PST by Liz

Charles Kushner

Charles Kushner, former chairman of Kushner Companies, a real estate and apartment owning/managing company in northern New Jersey and the Northeast, was sentenced on 3/4 to twenty-four months in prison and fined $40,000. He had been free on $5 million bail.

Kushner, a major fundraiser for Democrats, pleaded guilty in August to giving false statements to the FEC regarding $385,000 in political contributions he made from real estate partnerships without the permission of other partners, falsifying tax forms (16 counts), improperly listing $1 million in charitable contributions as business expenses, and shaving funds several hundred thousand dollars off taxes owed, and retaliating against his sister - a government witness.

Kushner had already paid the FEC a civil penalty of $508,900. The contributions were made in 1997-2000 and came from forty partnerships he controls. The recipients included 13 candidate committees, one party committee and one PAC.

Because federal law prohibits convicted felons from owning any interest in a bank, federal regulators forced the sale of Kushner-owned NorCrown Bank in New Jersey. On Nov. 11, Valley National Bancorp finalized a deal to buy NorCrown for $141 million. The Federal Reserve and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp reached a settlement in February with Kushner and a trust fund requiring them to pay $12.5 million for not fully identifying all the persons connected to the family trust that owned the bank.

Kushner may also owe between $200,000 and $320,000 in back taxes.

PoliticalMoneyLine highlighted the Kushner bundles in its May 30, 2001, home page link.

See also DOJ press release on Kushner’s guilty plea (link).

Companies, partnerships & individuals connected to Charles J. Kushner (Kushner Companies) bundled over $1 million to federal candidates and the DNC in 1999-00.

The scheme involved at least 72 partnerships/companies and 75 individuals/employees in and around Florham Park , NJ. The principal recipients were the DNC ($383K); Com for Working Families CWF (PAC of Mayor McGreevey, Woodbridge, NJ); Mayor Giuliani ($100K); Hillary Clinton ($79K); Jon Corzine ($72K); Sen Bob Torricelli ($57K); and Al Gore ($51K).

The employee relationship, timing and bundling of the donations has raised questions about who controlled the money and if the money was laundered with the use of 'straw' donors names.

CWF got 18 donations ($90K) on 5/2/00; Giuliani got 33 donations ($63K) on 3/31/99, and 35 ($35K) on 12/29/99; Clinton got 68 ($68K) on 6/29/00; Torricelli got 18 ($18K) on 1/22/99, and 38 ($38K) on 2/19/99; Gore got 33 ($33K) on 12/30/99 and 25 ($25K) on 2/10/00; Corzine got 30 ($30K) on 2/24/00, 18 ($18K) on 3/6/00 and 12 ($12K) on 3/31/00. Six individuals made 20 or more donations, totaling between $26K -$60K each. Download the spreadsheet file. Read additional text. http://www.politicalmoneyline.com/bundle.xls

Mayor Giuliani ($100K) ??????? I'm confused by this one.

If you check Guiliani's policies and beliefs, you'll discover he is more Democrat than Republican.

Whatever the issue: abortion, gay marriage, gun rights, taxes, immigration, etc. -- Guiliani lines up with Democratic values.

His one claim to having "Republican values" was his successful prosecution of stock/bond swindlers Michael Milken and Ivan Boesky in the 1980s, and the NY mob in the early 1990s.

Of course, Guiliani's public (gop)approval went up when he stood tall in the face of the 9/11 attacks.

If 9/11 never happened, I doubt his name would get mentioned in the same breath as presidential politics.

Was it because of the money that (Susan McDougal)made or her loyalty to the Clintons?

I believe McDougal was secretly in love with Bill Clinton, and entertained ideas that he would leave Hillary and cling to her (Susan)IF she proved her loyalty to him.

I also believe that McDougal was the type of woman who easily fell in love with someone with power, and Bill certainly fit that bill as AK governor and then President.

OK, pal.

Let us first define "Bad Guys," shall we?
Clintigula? {he bad-he bad}
His bitch, the august senator? {she bad too}
How 'bout The Punk? {he badder-he badder *yet*}
I've 1,000 Big that says no one of those three will ever see anything remotely resembling the kind of justice I think we'd *both* like to see meted out to scoundrels so deep in the stinky *kimchee* as they most certainly are.
Ever.
None.
Nada.
Nyet.
Nitz.
Period.
Capiche, Amigo?

My terms are as follows:

Part 1: IF any one of those 3 are brought up on charge(s) -- for anything, parking tickets notwithstanding -- within one year of today, March 5th, 2005, I pay you.
No questions asked.
If any one of the 3 aren't brought up on charge(s) though, you pay me.

Be advised *since* I've had dealings with you in the past that were *somewhat*, ummmm, less than honorable and/or aboveboard?
I *insist* a letter be drafted & signed by your wife *&* before a notary public which would essentially assure me she's been [fully] informed as to exactly what you're up to. ;^)
That way we *nip* any of the potential for slippery shenanigans associated with wagering with you as in the past?
Now those terms are a no-brainer, genius!!
*Easy* money.

And I'll tell you what: if you consummate this wager *today* for the terms contained in Part 1?
I'll spice it up even more by offering a heavy hitter the likes of you an *especially* sweet deal. :o)

Part 2: If any one of the 3 are brought up on charges within the next *2* years, I'll pay you 2,000 Big.
But if any one of the 3 are not brought up on charges within 2 years?
You owe me 1,500 Big.

Part 2 is totally optional, of course.

Shootin' fish in the proverbial barrel.
How can you resist?

So.
Are you ready to *rumble*, sonny?
If so put up *or* shut up.

FBD?
Might be in need of a *judge* over here.

...so stand by, kiddo. ;^)

C'mon you guys, this isn't news. News is what the media chooses to cover, and this one is gonna get the Golden Spike. Not a word out of Reuters or AP about this so far, and it's probably going to stay that way.

The public doesn't need to know about corruption that involves Democrats. Just ask any reporter. Corruption is only news if it involves Republicans.

Susan McDougal didn't talk and she made it out of jail alive.

Her husband, Jim McDougal talked, was jailed and then didn't make it out of jail alive, he died in the "hole".

Like the wager where you bet 'ol Slick would go to jail, and MacCauliffe would get indicted, etc?

You shoulda learnt that lesson when Ashcroft dropped any further investigations...

"The powerful protect the powerful. That's just the way it is, and deep down, you know it."

Of course I know that...but sometimes the Guilty git punished fer their crimes, and I believe Slick Willie will git his comeuppance while he is alive to endure it, and I wanna do everything in my--albeit limited--power to assist in said comeuppance.

"You shoulda learnt that lesson when Ashcroft dropped any further investigations..."

I knew Ashcroft was a patrician ninny from the git-go...who else would allow Wido What'sHerName to STEAL his Senator's spot?! A ninny, a gutless poltroon!! Of course, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but certainly not an appropriate choice fer AG!!

No.
JA was the *perfect* choice.

See, the rub for you was, is and always will be you're not the POTUS, W *is*.
And W felt JA was the ideal choice to head up his JD.
>doink!<

Which just goes to prove, once again.

...ya just don't get it. :o)

Or bigger & better yet, the whole universe!
Universe oughta be sufficient [enough] to describe the immensity of your import, I mean without going over board.

Suit yourself Mud, but let me share a little story about a young couple who, because of bitterness in their divorce allowed their lawyers to drag out the process, to where they lost everything, including their dignity and respect for each other. The whole time, the lawyers made these two folks think they were on their side, even pretended to hate the the other lawyer.

In the end, after the trial, the two lawyers went out and had a drink together. Salute!

To this day, that couple are still trying to recover financially, and they hate each other. The two laywers? Oh, they are doing GREAT. In fact, both are judges in my county...and from what I've seen of them at various social events, they are the best of friends.

Moral of the story, Mud:
Don't let powerful politicians *use* you as their pawn in their little *game*. The common man is quite disposable to these guys...

"I believe Slick Willie will git his comeuppance while he is alive to endure it, and I wanna do everything in my--albeit limited--power to assist in said comeuppance."

Sure, sure, Mud. Let me know how that works out for ya...OK?
