WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - Police arrested an 8-year-old boy who allegedly had a violent outburst in school, head-butting his teacher and kicking an assistant principal, when he was told he couldn't go outside to play with other students.
The 4-foot pupil was led away from Rawls Byrd Elementary School in handcuffs Tuesday and charged with disorderly conduct and assault and battery. "It's not something that happens every day," Maj. Stan Stout said of what could be the department's youngest arrest ever.
Stout said the chair-tossing, desk-turning outburst occurred after a teacher, and later the assistant principal, attempted to stop the boy from joining his classmates.
The child was later released to his parents.

First of all, the kid shouldn't have been able to even THINK he could act like that to an adult---parents fault
Then, the school would not have had to do anything to him, if he were mine---I would take care of it--
I was raised by a mother and father that spanked me and I always knew what was appropriate behaviour and what wasn't--in that respect I FEARED my parents, because I KNEW I was gonna get a spanking---
My kids also knew they would, so by the age of this kid, all I had to do was look at them a certain way---and they would NEVER, EVER have spoken to an authority figure like that--
BTW, both of my kids are not only successful, but they still love me---go figure!!!

Another parental success story; NOT! I can only imagine where Mommy and Daddy are during this child's life. This child needs to be "scared straight" ASAP!

Gee, imagine how he would have behaved had he been exposed to some simple parenting . . . . . and DISCIPLINE . . . . . before his behavior got to this point.

I've heard liberal say that things like paddling humiliates children because others make fun of them or whatever. That wasn't the case when I was that age. If somebody got paddled and came back to the class in tears, you could expect an incredibly well-behaved, quiet class for the rest of the day. It scared the hell out of the other kids.
Over the past 10 years I have seen so many kids that needed a good paddling. Instead, the parents either cave in and "bribe" their kids and buy them whatever they want (which just reinforces their behavior) or they pretend like the kids aren't doing anything (which drives the people around them nuts).

No idea, but IIRC my sense of justice was already well-developed.

Imagine what this kid will be like in 6 or 7 years!Check out the dirtbags in Brick Twp., N.J. who set the teacher up for the phone cam, and had posted their own holiday vandalism on a website, for a sample.

LOL! R'member the paddles with holes?! Smack!

Isn't it interesting? Teachers have to take special classes in how to restrain children who are a danger to themselves, to other kiddies, or to the teacher (once my wife came home with a lovely twin set of dental arch prints in her lower arm), while other teachers are giving their students Lewinskies!
I'm so glad we let the Liberals take over the school systems. Gotta love that NEA!

No tazer? Pfft. For trantrums, one uses a trazer.

When I was in public school in the 50's, the teachers in the elementary grades had paddles with holes drilled in to make them sting more. OTOH, the kids that needed the paddling probably weren't getting it at home and most likely still turned into mean rednecks. But it kept things orderly at school at least.

Along with fairly regular tantrums, I demolished an entire classroom once as revenge for being punished for something I didn't do, and leapt out a classroom window during the middle of a class to get away from an abusive teacher.
Never got arrested for it, though. ------
good for you, I think. lol ;-)

This is a result of the government restricting parental dicipline at home!! Good, decent, parents ,are hand tied and live in fear of diciplining their children these days. The big " DCF" fear looms over them. I have raised my children for the most part. They are on their own. But the fact remains. We are no longer allowed to " raise up a child in the way he should go"......
and the likes of those extremely abusive, parents that were arrested two weeks ago on HORRIBLE CHILD ABUSE( can't think of their names right off!), doesn't help any!!!!!!

Teachers are not allowed to be teachers anymore.
In a NY minute, my 3rd-grade teacher would have put the fear of God in this brat.

Our coaches had holes and notches drilled and cut into their paddles. Left quite the imnpression.
