Mom Says Boyfriend Sacrificed 13-Month-Old Daughter

AKRON, Ohio -- A Springfield Township mother broke down in tears as she was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the death of her 13-month-old daughter. Vanessa McGlumphy, 25, and the baby's father made statements to the court Wednesday, NewsChannel5 reported.

McGlumphy, pleaded guilty last month to involuntary manslaughter and child endangering for not protecting her daughter.

The toddler died last October. She suffered a broken neck, a severed liver and 12 broken ribs. She also had been struck 40 times with a needle on the bottom of both feet and the side of her head, the prosecutor said. McGlumphy said that she thought her boyfriend, Daniel Duffield, 32, sacrificed her child because he is a different religion than she is and that they performed a ritual on the girl as a result of his belief. McGlumphy characterized Duffield as a "black pagan," the prosecutor said.

Duffield was found guilty Tuesday of involuntary manslaughter and murder in the death of the toddler.

He will be sentenced March 9. He faces 15 years to life in prison.

I'd give my birth right for just six hours alone in a room with this pair, armed only with Saran Wrap, a sock and a snooker ball.

I guess I could have been a little more clear (It's dawned on me from time to time that not everyone thinks like I do).  Snooker ball is a smaller version of a pool ball, VERY hard.  You slip it in the sock so you can swing it around (think old time sling shot or chain mace).  And the Saran Wrap is to restrain them without giving them any additional protection.  Imagine being wrapped into a chair with Saran Wrap.  It works.

 

And before anyone says I'm sick to think or know about this stuff...

I'm going through this with a dear friend of mine now. She is going through a 'but what about me' phase and is (I feel)jeapardizing her teen daughter by allowing a bullying man to move in, sight unseen. (Internet dating) It is straining our friendship because I bluntly called her selfish and of course the man is seizing this opportunity to inform her that I obviously don't really care about her. I do care about her, but at this point I care about her daughter more.

Is there EVER a case like this where a child is tortured/sexually abused/killed when it ISN'T done by a "new boyfriend" of the mother?

What is WRONG with these women? Well, obviously this one was a meth-head, among other problems. Animals care for their young better than some humans do. Infuriating!
