George W. Bush will be forever remembered by these words
Inauguration Speech, 2005 | 3-1-05 | dfu

For those who were not alive at the time, you read it in your history book. John Kennedy: Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.

In more recent times, we heard Ronald Wilson Reagan: Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.

And a little more than a month ago on a frigid day in Washington D.C., we heard the words of another man. Those words are destined to become among the most famous words in history. George W. Bush: Today, America speaks anew to the peoples of the world: All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: the United States will not ignore your oppression, or excuse your oppressors. When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you.

I am pleased to be able to say that I was there to hear those words. I heard them live. People longing from freedom around the world have heard them on tape and seen them on the internet. Those words are having a profound effect around the world.

George W. Bush will be remembered for those words, just as Kennedy and Reagan are remembered for the above citations.

As an aside, for what will Bill Clinton be remembered? I did not have sex with that woman. . . . That man wasted the eight years that he was given. Absolutely wasted them. As the evil Hillary Clinton does an extreme makeover to fool America, I hope that people will never forget the lesson taught by her husband -- never again trust a Clinton with foreign policy and with the quest for freedom.

The smell of freedom is in the air. People everywhere know that George W. Bush will never waiver. The left can protest in the street all they want. He has told strangers around the world that this nation stands with them. He means it, and the whole world now knows that he means it. We are blessed that this man of character and vision is in the White House. We are watching the world change as we never could have imagined.

"And .. I was contemplating where we would be if Gore had been elected, and then Kerry. "

"I truly believe we would be in the same condition as Israel - facing daily terror attacks."

And under martial law.

"Well .. depending on how much the dems were willing to cheat."

LOL...I factored that in. Algore was the only candidate strong enough that they felt confident cheating that much with. Following their almost success of course, all bets are off democrat cowardice of getting caught in subsequent elections. Kerry was a bad joke and look how much they cheated with him.

I don't miss him yet, the best has yet to come. Much of his success will not be recognized before he waves to us as he boards Marine One for the last time in January of 2009.

Exactly! - and all elections would be cancelled!

Since GOD can read the heart - HE obviously knew what was coming - THANK GOD we have President Bush.

From the 40s through the 80s the USA stood firm against the spread of communism. Until 1972 the democrat presidential candidates were of the same mind and policy as the Republicans.

One could argue that in following this policy, the US became partners with any bad character who would assist. The extreme left made that point.

Carter was a blip on the screen, but he did harm. But not so much to prevent the demise of the USSR and the release of the Soviet grip across Eastern Europe.

Bush's policy "triangulates" against the old left claim that we support corrupt regimes. It took muslim terror to make this policy timely and essential.

It took the principled courage of Bush, to firmly follow this path.

Ad the palestinian troubles to the list of changing regimes, too.

The left is "left" without a meaningful foreign policy argument, these days. Hence the shift to oppose social security reform (which so many of them are on record for previously supporting).

"I`m only going to say this once, I did not have sexual relations with that woman" -William Jefferson Clinton

"I voted for (insert anything here) before I voted against it" - John "flip flop" Kerry

"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH"- Howard Dean

"Since GOD can read the heart - HE obviously knew what was coming "

I believe that. I think the election of President Bush in 2000 was evidence of the Holy Spirit working in the world.

I agree - it was exactly that!!

"If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray, then will I hear from heaven and heal their land".

I forgot part of it - so here it is in full:

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chron 7:14

That's better!

It's also no accident that much of this occurred in conjunction with Condi's grand tour.

Well .. while they did cheat with Kerry - because that's normal for them .. it was more the "anybody but Bush" syndrome.

I'm really afraid for America's future without him - because I don't see anyone on the horizon who could keep the momentum going.

I will agree - I believe there is a lot more to come - very historic stuff.

It is striking to me that President Bush realized as early as 9/20/01 what needed to be done in order to combat terrorism.

Clearly, as you posted, he realized spreading freedom and liberty across the world would be an essential part of this effort.

He will indeed be recorded as one of our greatest presidents.

That's okay - but it's better to just say what you think - because I really wasn't sure what you meant. I still might have answered you the same way .. but maybe not!
