CHICAGO (AP) -- Authorities found two bodies at the home of a federal judge Monday night, and Chicago police and the FBI were investigating.The bodies were found at the home of U.S. District Judge Joan Humphrey Lefkow, but the judge was uninjured, police spokesman Patrick Camden said.
He declined to elaborate.
FBI agents were assisting police but would provide no details.

Well, that is surely the most likely. ..but we know things are not always, what they seem to be. . .
Putting on a 'tin foil hat' for just a moment. . .maybe a murder; designed to look like a 'right/wing hit'. . .for some long-term, political gain. OR. ..how were they killed?. . .did her husband; who was a Lawyer, have any 'Islamic' clients ?
OR.....Hale/'white supremecist wins. . .or loses by a 'planned double whammy', by his own people. . .ie they wanted a 'permanent sentence' for him to insure he does not return home soon.
. . .or. . . Hale; very intelligent. . .loses him mind and organizes something very stupid and guarantees his permanent jeopardy.

You make a good point that it could be someone other than a member of Hale's group.
Could this bozo, Hale, be so stupid as to think that if he murdered her family she would be intimidated and not give him extra years ..?? It boggles the mind.
His sentence may be filled with exclamation points.

Thanks to the Patriot Act .. police are now able to do what only private inspectors were able to do. This gives them a distinct advantage.
I don't disagree with you asessment of Hale. He's in jail, though. His "church" is pretty much washed up as well. It's completely logical that he and/or one of his disciples should be primary suspects in light of his threats to this judge. Let's just keep in mind that it's all still speculation on our part, though. If the Federal Marshall Service was not pritecting this judge's house - why weren't they?

If it is true that 24 x 7 protection stopped after Hale's conviction, it would go way past poor-planning on the Feds' part. It would be utter incompetence. I'm frankly surprised, as the government is typically quite zealous about protecting its own.
Hale solicited to have this judge killed. That's a serious threat - regardless of how crazy Hale is or where he lived - and should have been treated as such. Even though his "church" is largely done for, there are still followers (there always are - look at Charles Mason) and he clearly made the threat.

Police sources were cautious about describing the deaths Monday night, and said it was too early to say how the victims were killed.

No they are NOT. They are an ethnicity and/or a religion. (I know that doesn't sound grammatically correct, but it's the middle of the night and I can't think of the correct way to say it.)
Just like Hispanic is NOT a race; it is also an ethnicity.

There are only three races,Caucasoid,Negroid and Mongoloid. Everything else is a subdivision or a mixture.
The Ainu and the Australian Aborigines are Caucasoids;as are Semites...for example.
Could also have just been an intruder who didn't even know these people, just thought he saw a fancy house and thought he could get good stuff.
No--she is not Jewish. She married a guy who was born Jewish, but now seemed to be very active in a local Episcopal church.
