Kevin Shelleys State-Issued PDA Stolen From Home
Someone broke into outgoing Secretary of State Kevin Shelly's San Francisco home last weekend. Whoever did it bypassed valuables and decided to take only Shelley's state-issued personal digital assistant.
According to San Francisco police, Shelley called authorities Sunday morning after discovering someone had apparently entered his Everson Street home during the night though an open window. Shelley told police he had left the window open, but noticed the opening had been widened when he woke up in the morning.
Shelley also told police that he may have wiped-off a smudge from the windowsill that could have been helpful in the investigation. Police have collected some other evidence but would not elaborate on the nature of it.
The stolen PDA is programmed to access sensitive state-run websites. State officials have since disabled those connections for security reasons.
Shelley resigned as Secretary of State earlier this month amid questions about his handling of federal election funds and his treatment of state personnel. His resignation will become effective next Tuesday.
Doesn't pass the smell test. More likely he destroyed it rather than have stuff turn up in a forensic analysis of its contents.
Stolen? Or thrown into a river to hide the evidence on it.
How many ways can you spell STUPID?
Or even better.........
In cahoots.
If it was stolen, it may have been the FBI.
Yeah, stolen..., that's the ticket. They done come in an stole it....
A likely story.
Yeah sure.......
Sold it, or lost it.
My money is on sold it.
LOL don't tell me the cops believe that BS!
CA: Secretary of state says state-issued PDA stolen from home (How convenient, for him..ShmelleyGate)
NOT the typical weather for having your window open.
This story stinks to high heaven.Kind of similar to "I just happened to find these billing records in my office after looking for them for years"
If he had his appointments schedule in that, then when he synched it would be on his computer.
If there is an investigation, a warrent to confiscate all computers would seem in order.
