Once people get a taste of freedom, there is no turning back.

I'll wager there were an awful lot of middle easterners watching the Iraq election saying "Why can't that be us?"

"I believe that freedom is the deepest need of every human soul."
George W. Bush, Press Conference, White House, Tuesday, April 13, 2004

"The desire for freedom resides in every human heart. And that desire cannot be contained forever by prison walls, or martial laws, or secret police. Over time, and across the Earth, freedom will find a way."
George W. Bush, Speech to UN General Assembly, September 21, 2004

" We know that free peoples embrace progress and life, instead of becoming the recruits for murderous ideologies."
George W. Bush, Speech to UN General Assembly, September 21, 2004

"Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world; it is God's gift to humanity."
George W. Bush, State of the Union address 2003

"I believe that God has planted in every human heart the desire to live in freedom. And even when that desire is crushed by tyranny for decades, it will rise again."
George W. Bush, State of the Union address, January 20, 2004

I agree it isn't going to happen without bloodshed and tears and sweat and years, but people want freedom, and its nice to see them standing up to those, in their own country, who have held them under thumb for so long.

The euphoria is because we see these people throwing off the chains, and we are excited for them. THEY are doing it.

A Lebanese woman prays in front of soldiers during a demonstration in downtown Beirut, February 28, 2005. "Boy, the World continues to change. What will it be like in 20 years?"

Let's just say congress had better give the president free reign on missile defense. ALL of it. Nothing barred for political reasons. Otherwise some Islamist will decide there's only one option left. Thanks Vlad.

"Graciously hearken to us as soldiers who call upon Thee that, armed with Thy power, we may advance from victory to victory, and crush the oppression and wickedness of our enemies and establish Thy justice among men and nations."--Excerpt from Gen. Patton's Famous Prayer

This seems appropriate.

Well Coop... you are wrong in your assertion that Syria is not part of the Axis. If your reply to facts proving you were wrong is simply "go away", so be it.
