Thanks for the new thread, FV. I'm checking in with my abrasive self, weird graphics ideas, rambling essays, cheerleading, and prayers. :)

Awareness of Terri - and awareness of the agenda for universal euthanasia - is exploding! No longer is discussion it confined to mainly FR. It's on hundreds of blogs, most of the conservative discussion forums (and some liberal), and usenet newsgroups. People who aren't online at all are talking about among themselves. The more people who know - the more people will act. No way will this issue or us be silenced! It's too big now, and too widespread.

Thanks Eleanor..
I am sharing this.

Hi -

On tonight's Sweet Liberty broadcast, Jackie Patru reminded
listeners that a powerful law-based argument against a court
denying a disabled person water and food was made in FL
governor Jeb Bush's Amicus Curiae brief of October 2003.
Jackie has conveniently provided excerpts from that document
in this article on her web site:

http://www.sweetliberty.org/bulletins/terri/jeb.htm

Gov. Bush provided specific references to Florida law.

Bottom line, the judge can't order witholding of water and food
from someone who is conscious, which Terri clearly is.

On Monday, attorney David Gibbs filed 11 motions, including a petition for divorce. The petition for divorce states that Michael Schiavo has been co-habitating with Jodi Centonze for over 10 years and has fathered two children with her. Living in open adultery is a 2nd degree misdemeanor in Florida (FS 798.01 Living in Open Adultery).

Judge Greer refused to hear the divorce petition, along with the motions to remove Michael Schiavo as guardian and to allow news medical tests. The links to several motions filed today are below.

Well, this morning I was saying my daily prayers for Terri. After I was done I went to my Bible to ready my daily Proverb. Today is March 1st, I read Proverbs 1....

I chose to read out of my "Living Bible today" and this is what it said... WOW! ....

Wisdom shouts in the streets for a hearing. She calls out to the crowds along Main Street, and to the judges in their courts, and to everyone in the land: “You simpletons!” she cries.

“How long will you go on being fools? How long will you scoff at wisdom and fight the facts? Come and listen to me! I’ll pour out the spirit of wisdom upon you, and make you wise. I have called you so often but still you won’t come. I have pleaded, but all in vain.

For you have spurned my counsel and reproof. Some day you’ll be in trouble, and I’ll laugh! Mock me will you?-I’ll mock you! When the storm of terror surrounds you, and when you are engulfed by the anguish and distress, then I will not answer your cry for help. It will be too late though you search for me ever so anxiously.

For you close your eyes to the facts and did not choose to reverence and trust in the LORD and you turned your back on me, spurning my advice. That is why you must eat the bitter fruit of having your own way, and experience the full terrors of the pathway you have chosen For you turned away from me-to death: your own complacency will kill you. Fools!

But all who listen to me shall live in peace and safety, unafraid.”

Proverbs 1:20-33

Maybe the Lord had Judge Greer in mind when he wrote this!
I felt this Proverb so powerful, I just had to share...

Does anyone listen to Chuck Swindoll on Insight for Living? http://www.insight.org/

He's been talking about the book of Esther this week and his message is so encouraging. He pointed out a verse today when talking about the actions of the Persian King. Proverbs 21:1 "The king's heart is like a stream of water directed by the Lord; He turns it wherever He pleases."

I just received this message in an email from Gov. Bush's staff.

Thank you for contacting Governor Bush to ask for his help in the case of Terri Schiavo. He has asked me to respond on his behalf.

The Governor shares your concern for this young woman and has pledged to do whatever he can within the laws of Florida to protect her life. The next few weeks will be very difficult ones for Ms. Schiavo, her family and all of those who care about her. The Governor asks that you keep her and her family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Again, thank you for writing Governor Bush about this important issue.

Sincerely, L. O’Connor

Here is the latest update I have.

Congress Steps in on Terri Schiavo Case Congressman David Weldon (R-FL), a medical doctor, plans to introduce legislation titled the Incapacitated Person's Legal Protection Act (Terri's Law), which will hopefully help save Terri Schiavo's life.

The legislation would give Terri and others in similar situations the same constitutional protection of due process as death row inmates. Already this week, attorneys for Terri's parents have filed six different motions to help save their daughter, all of which are now on appeal.

Dr. Weldon's legislation would allow Terri to have her own counsel who can argue her case, a right given to any criminal in the United States. Terri is, of course, not a criminal but a woman fighting for her life. As Terri's fight intensifies, I cannot be more frank on the fate of this poor woman if her husband has his way. If Terri's feeding tubes are removed, she will face a slow death through starvation, which can take anywhere from 7 to 30 days.

Terri's parents, as do Congressman Weldon and I, truly believe Terri is alive and deserves to continue living.

Please call, e-mail, AND fax your U.S. representative to support Terri's Law -- truly life-saving legislation. Time is of the essence.

I don't have time to look at all the comments right now. Have you heard about the efforts to get Congress to act? Greer won't be able to ignore Congress like he ignores the Florida legislature. He doesn't have to obey the Florida Legislature because he's a royal judge and royal judge don't have to listen to the common people.

Here in PA, the March 4 edition of The Catholic Witness (diocese of Harrisburg) has a 3-column news item on Terri, prominently at the top of page 2. First two columns are great. If anyone's still reading into the third column, they mention the Florida bishops' unfortunate remarks---"when the burdens exceed the benefits," etc.---but the report is mostly very pro-Terri, that is, firmly identifying this as attempted euthanasia and therefore wrong. It mentions the Holy Father's statements and Cardinal Martino's. Also mentions how Michael Schiavo has 2 children by another woman while remaining legally married to Terri.
No byline to it, just "Catholic News Service." Though I don't see a copy of this report at their website.
