Terri's Freepers,
Judge George Greer denied Terri's parents' Motion for a Stay to protect their daughter's life while there are still pending issues in this LIFE AND DEATH MATTER. In addition the Department of Children and Family Services made a surprise visit to the court hearing the other day and asked Judge Greer if they could approach the bench. Judge Greer denied DCF the opportunity to speak. DCF asked for 60 days to conduct a complete investigation of allegations that have surfaced in the form of a Complaint to their agency.
What was set in motion instead? On Friday, February 25th, Judge Greer REFUSED TO issue another Stay because he was "not comfortable" issuing a say to protect a Ward of the State but instead "set a date certain" (on his calendar at least, not on mine) to BEGIN THE BARBARIC, ANTI-AMERICAN, STARVATION-DEHYDRATION SLOW MURDER OF TERRI.
Attorney Gibbs for Terri's parents held a press conference after J. Greer's order that was so tastefully written to indicate that "he was giving the Schindlers until March 18th so they could "prepare for Last Rites." Attorneys Gibbs called this ruling and prior rulings "Hitler-resque". Indeed.
If Judge Greer wasn't LEGALIZING EUTHANASIA in his courtroom, why any need for Last Rites? Greer's urgency to fulfill this killing places urgency on every one of us to lobby Governor Bush, Florida's House and Florida's Senate.
A Judge in America is ordering the manner of someone's death, a disabled woman who is healthy but needs rehabilitation.
Time is short so we don't really have time to get into Greer's mind to see why he is Florida's Til of the Hun.
What can we do?
1. LOBBY TO SAVE TERRI
2. HELP BUMP THIS THREAD.
3. POST ARTICLES YOU SEE ABOUT TERRI.
4. VISIT PINELLAS COUNTY FLORIDA AND VIGIL WITH US AT HOSPICE WOODSIDE.
5. VISIT TALLAHASSEE AND LOBBY IN THE HALLS OF THE LEGISLATURE.
6. HOLD A DEMONSTRATION AT THE GOVERNOR'S MANSION.
7. Join the Message Board that freepers started at the Crystal Cathedral/Hour of Power. TELL YOUR CHURCH ABOUT TERRI.
8. Tell your friends that Terri is alert and aware of her surroundings and to visit www.terrisfight.org to see her videos.
9. PETITIONS. We will gather current Petitions here for you. At this time, you can sign a SAVE TERRI PETITION AT www.renewamerica.us. THERE ARE ALSO IMPEACH GREER PETITIONS ABOUT.
Finally, the Pope has no Living Will. He will be SAFE as long as he stays away from George Greer's courtroom. The Pope is in our thoughts and prayers and he knows of Terri. He wants Terri to be freed from oppression and from a painless death by starvation-dehyration.
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO EVERY DAY, THE PAY ISN'T VERY GOOD BUT THE FRINGE BENEFITS ARE THE GREATEST. You are Great Americans and liberty is Terri's and freedom from oppression. Freepers, that is the big payoff if we continue our daunting task.
Terri's family is grateful to you and all of your prayers are being heard by the Giver of Life.
This is Terri's Fight and the battle is enjoined. JOIN US TO SAVE TERRI FROM FORCES THAT HAVE BUT ONE GOAL THAT IS AGAINST EVERYTHING AMERICAN.
GUIDELINES: If you want to start frivolous discussions, please start your own thread in chat.

Under 'Other Public Service' did you notice that it says 'hospice-past member'?
Tell you what, when I see somebody's CV that looks like this, I think that they have done a lot of it for show, because if you are *really* involved with this many organizations, you barely have time to wipe your behind! Otherwise he is only a member of these things and just gets to have his name in a book. Makes a guest appearance once in a while. He couldn't be in to the nitty gritty of this many worthwhile activities without sacrificing something. JMHO.

I have a virus on my machine that my daughter got in a link. Norton anti-virus is slimed on my machine and it says it can't contain the virus. I'll be back when it's cleaned.

Thanks for the link ExPat. I am wondering if it would encourage more Freepers to send a letter if they had a sample letter to go on, or would that be appropriate? There are those skilled in writing, and there are those that are not. I would hate to see letters gone unsent for this reason. Just wondering..........

I am wondering if it would encourage more Freepers to send a letter if they had a sample letter to go on, or would that be appropriate? My opinion:
Any letter is better than no letter. Congress people tend to count votes rather than to read. Any letter counts a lot. "Please save Terri Schiavo" would be fine.

I just received this from a friend and I promised her I'd put it on FR.
I got this back. Might be worth passing on and asking everyone to flood his phone with calls.
In a message dated 3/2/2005 11:18:34 P.M. Central Standard Time, LEE.TOM.WEB@flsenate.gov writes:

Copy the following post:

Paste it into an email and forward it to everyone in your address book. This makes it simple and easy for you to spread the word beyond the border of FR and easy for others with mild interest to do something. Help get Terr's name spoken by millions to the few people who can actually move something. Help her, her lawyers, the governor everyone by making her situation so public that the glare of the spotlight shines on the shenanigans and calls them for what they are. Please, it's easy, it's simple, it's three minutes of your time.

This is a gathering place, a place where strategy is discussed and planned, and the point of info disseminnation. Lurkers become involved in Terri's cause because of what's here.
Postimg here does not preclude acting elsewhere, and vice versa. Many regulars have done nearly everything on the list, or more. Some posts are themselves actions for the benefit of the media, govt., etc. What's important is to keep the pressure on, relentlessly, online and offline. Doing whatever's possible and necessary.
The stakes are so high - not just for Terri but for the whole country - that I'll go so far as to agree with some of the civil disobedience advocates. It worked for Gandhi against the whole British Empire, and it's also an American tradition. If the time ever comes when it's needed, then so be it.
Like many here, I'm sending that newest version of your info list out to all my email contacts who aren't on FR. We gotta keep spreading the word and keep the pressure on.

Latest from Fight4Terri@aol.com:
Subj: Fw: Statement of Cardinal Renato Martino on behalf of Terri Schiavo
Date: 3/7/2005 7:25:59 AM Eastern Standard Time
From: Msgr Ignacio Barreiro
To:
HIGHEST PRIORITY
Please find attached an important Statement from Cardinal Renato Martino, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace defending the right to life Terri Schiavo.
This statement was issued today by the Cardinal and it was just sent to me by Msgr. James M. Reinert of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace.
In our unflagging struggle to defend the life of Terry Schiavo this an important and very encouraging document that should receive the most ample possible distribution.
Today that we celebrate the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas (1962 calendar) I am imploring the Angelical Doctor to came to our assistance and protect the life of Terri Schiavo.
Msgr. Ignacio Barreiro Carámbula
Human Life International
Rome Office
Statement of Cardinal Renato Martino,
President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace
Vatican City
7 March 2005
The courts have ruled again and again. Unfortunately, the deadline for the removal of the tube delivering food and water to Terri Schiavo is quickly approaching. I am sorry to have to use the word deadline but this is the most accurate way to describe what will happen. Without the tube which is providing life-giving hydration and nutrition, Terri Schiavo will die. But it is not that simple. She will die a horrible and cruel death. She will not simply die, she will have death inflicted upon her over a number of terrible days even weeks. How can anyone who claims to speak of the promotion and protection of human rights-of human life- remain silent? Is this not a question of the right to life? I believe that I must speak out about this in the same way that I would speak of the protection of the unborn and just as I would concerning any injustice .
Has due process in this case been truly served? Have all options been employed? Where is love? Where is human compassion? No one would ever wish to witness the suffering of another, especially a loved one. And I am sure that no one could ever choose to witness suffering or a cruel death being inflicted upon another, especially one who is loved. How then have we come to this point?
If it is true that the process has been fair and that all legal avenues have been exhausted, how is it that this woman, who has done nothing wrong, will suffer a fate which society would never tolerate in the case of a convicted murderer or anyone else convicted of the most horrendous crimes? Again, it is an issue of human rights. It is an issue of the right to life, and as I stated earlier, no one can be the arbiter fo life except God himself!
The State of Florida has many laws on its books which protect animals, whether they be household pets, domesticated farm animals or animals destined for slaughter. (And please pardon me as I make this analogy. I am not comparing Terri to an animal. I only want to show the protection that the courts afford to animals in the State of Florida.) These laws prohibit[s] anyone from intentionally committing an act to any animal which results in cruel death, or excessive or repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering (828.12). It is also unlawful to keep an animal in a place while failing to supply a sufficient quantity of good and wholesome food and water(828.13).
Are these laws not enforced by the same courts, are these not the same laws established by lawmakers in order to protect other creatures of God?
However, in just a few days, [if her husband and the courts have their way, ]this is exactly what will happen to Terri. She will be completely deprived of water and food. She will have excessive suffering and pain inflicted upon her which will lead to her cruel death. Yet we have come to the point of asking whether due process been fully carried out and all options exhausted on behalf of Terri? This is unbelievable! Is it not sufficient enough to say that there are still questions that must be answered? We plead, we make the urgent appeal for the life of a helpless human being...a person with whom we all share our God given human dignity. How can anyone say that her best interests have been taken into consideration?
In his Message for the Eleventh World Day of the Sick (11 February 2003) His Holiness Pope John Paul II stated: And while palliative treatment in the final stage of life can be encouraged, avoiding a treatment at all costs mentality, it will never be permissible to resort to actions or omissions which by their nature or in the intention of the person acting are designed to bring about death.
Palliative care, by its definition is the alleviation of suffering and relieving pain. In the last stage of life, it is this care for which we all must hope because, if the feeding tube is removed and Terri is forced to die this slow, terrible, painful death, we must ask ourselves, And who will be next? Will this open the door for a state to decide whether this or that incapacitated person should die...not be allowed to die a dignified death but that they should have death inflicted upon them?
It must stop here and now. The courts, the judges and everyone involved with this must understand that all of the questions involved in the case of Terri Schiavo have not yet been answered. Society must realize that we can never inflict this sort of death on a human being, on any other creature, without each and every one of us and society as a whole suffering a terrible fate.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll put it in an updated list out later this evening.
Does anyone know if Chuck Harder is still active in Florida, and where he stands on Terri?
