REPORT by The SnowFlake:

It was a gorgeous, cool, windy, bright sun shiny day, about 41 degrees, when we all gathered at our corner from 10-11 this past Saturday morning. Bluesagewoman, Prov 3:4,5,6, a friend, and I were there. I was disappointed to discover that three beautiful trees had been chopped down in our area. How we will miss them, especially this summer. But, that will not hinder us from still being there as often as possible in support of our troops!

As usual, the Appeasement For Peace people were across the street from us with their same old worn out signs and banners. One big banner said, "U.S. GI's killed in Iraq 107 Last Month, 1492 Total. How many Iraqis have died?” "How many Iraqis have died,” they ask? It's too bad they didn't ask that question when Saddam was in power! And, it’s also really too bad they don't ask how many lives have been SAVED as a result of our troops being there. MANY HAVE DIED SO MANY COULD BE FREE!!!

Our little group appreciated the many smiles, waves and thumbs up from different people coming and going both on foot and by many driving by this morning. One lady walking by expressed to us that she had a family member who is a disabled veteran from 1976 in the Pacific. In shame and disgust, as she continued to talk to us, she commented how amazing it was to her that that the group of protesters across from us claim they are not for war and death, and yet they're for abortion. That really is quite a CONTRADICTION isn't it?

Another person crossing the street- a Vietnam Veteran- thanked us for standing there, and also commented in so many words how he couldn't get over how the other side claims they're against murder, but yet they're for abortion. These two people had never talked to each other either.

Later on, a young couple who had parked near our group, before they drove away spoke to Prov 3:4,5,6. I don't recall their opening comment. It had something to do with terror, I think. Prov 3:4,5,6 said boldly, "They want you dead." The young lady said, "I know that. I'm on your side.” Prov 3:4,5,6 said, "They want you dead, too." Before the young man got into the car to drive away he said, "No, they don't. You haven't talked to them." Prov 3:4,5,6 said, "I have." He said, "No, you haven't." Then I said, "Yes, she has. I was there when she did." Soon, they got into their car and drove away.

Towards the end of the hour, two ladies and a little girl parked close to our group. As they got out of their car, the older lady gave us some kind words of encouragement and support. She also mentioned to Prov. 3:4,5,6 that her dad was a Vietnam Vet, and their family had a military background. She also commented that the group of people across from us, and many others like them need to learn that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. She also stated that in general we all have a choice- TO EITHER DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, OR LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN.

All of our group appreciated this lady and her family and her husband that served in Vietnam, as well as all the other veterans and people that acknowledged us and gave us support today. But, even much more than that, we extend their appreciation along with ours to all the many troops overseas in Iraq--as well as to all the many other Americans in very dangerous locations throughout the world-- who are still there and who remain FAITHFUL to the very end!!!

As Prov 3:4,5,6 and I were discussing together this morning, President Bush has said, "They'll come home when the job is done." And, we want to THANK so many of our troops who have been willing and are still willing to do that, as extremely tough and difficult as that is! We want to THANK our troops who are willing to CONTINUE to fight and put their lives on the line every day for the freedoms and liberties of so many in Iraq every night and every day.

We realize that many or most of our troops already understand that PEACE DOES NOT ALWAYS NECESSARILY MEAN THE ABSENCE OF WAR. Our troops understand that in order to have Peace and Freedom, it can often mean making a big sacrifice-- even if it means paying the ultimate price-- not only for OUR OWN Peace and Freedom, but for that of MANY OTHERS besides ourselves.

As Prov 3:4,5,6 and I were further discussing, we also realize, that right now, our troops CONTINUE to diligently and bravely fight in Iraq, so that history will not repeat itself. Our troops CONTINUE to fight, so that Iraq will not end up like Germany under Hitler and the brutal, animalistic Nazis.

Our troops CONTINUE to fight, so that Iraq will not end up like North Korea, where people are starving to death. Our troops CONTINUE to fight, so that Iraq will not end up like Cuba under Fidel Castro. Our troops CONTINUE to fight, so that Iraq will not end up with another insane, ruthless madman and dictator like Saddam, who claimed a multitude of innocent and defenseless lives. And we continue to counter-protest so that this war now won't end up like the Vietnam War, where our troops and veterans go unappreciated and unsupported and even disrespected. We do appreciate and thank all of our Vietnam Veteran, including my husband, as well as all other troops past, present and future. And, we certainly appreciate our troops now, and will continue to do everything in our power to uphold them in any way we can.

So, now again, and always we express our highest respect and honor to all of our troops, and extend our deepest and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to OUR TROOPS-OUR HEROES who are willing to stay and tough it out to the very finish line, who will not quit until the job is finished.

We want to continue to support you through our prayers and in any other way that we can. And, so we say, Please ignore the negative idol talk that says "End the Occupation," but, instead, keep up the Good Fight of Freedom, and CONTINUE THE LIBERATION until the job is completed.

Many thanks and prayers to all of OUR TROOPS-OUR HEROES!!!

Mid-Missouri Freepers have survived the cold winter countering the peaceniks. We truly enjoy the opportunity to visibly support our enlisted each weekend. Thank you Snowflake for taking the time to write this up, and to Prov, Zip, Mrs. Zip, and all of you who have dedicated time and energy during this past season. And, though our tree is gone, we will be there again next week. Hope to see you there.

Thank you for the great report and for being there for our Country, our Troops and their families and all real Americans everywhere.

I cannot believe they cut down our "world famous" trees. I'll miss their shade and protection from the rain and snow.

I forgot to add the pleasure I got out of being there last week. We had a Korean War vet drive past, go around the block and stop and come over to shake everyones hand. We also had a young lady come up, with tears in her eyes, to thank us for being there. (Her husband was coming home from Iraq in two weeks). Apparently, she had written him about the group protesting the anti war crowd and he wanted her to thank us. If that doesn't put a lump in your throat, you're in the wrong country.

Again, thanks to the core of our group, Blue, Prov and the Snowflake, for always being there for all of us.

Yes, we all miss the trees and we'll definitely miss the shade they will provide when the weather gets hot!

One of the elderly peacenik ladies crossed the street to ask us if we knew who cut down the trees, or why. We don't. She sounded sincerely interested. After a few moments of talk, a car pulled up to the parking place where she stood, so she returned to the other side.

On the positive side, I think our signs and OLD GLORY are much more visible to passersby now that the trees are gone. It seems to me that we have had many more thumbs-up, waves, and honks-for-our-side than we had with the trees there.

THANK YOU, military and military families, for your sacrifices for the freedoms all Americans take for granted. We can never repay you. God bless you!
