CU weighs buyout for firebrand prof [more of Ward Churchill]
Denver Post ^ | Feb 26, 2005 | Dave Curtin and Arthur Kane

Posted on 02/26/2005 11:08:15 AM PST by AdrianR

University of Colorado officials are considering offering Ward Churchill an early retirement package that could end an increasingly uncomfortable standoff with the controversial professor.

Two people familiar with internal CU discussions said the still-undetermined offer is in the idea stage. The discussions come just a week before a three-person panel is scheduled to deliver a report on Churchill's fitness for tenure.

David Lane, Churchill's attorney, said he has not been contacted about a buyout offer.

But, he said, while his primary focus is on protecting Churchill's constitutional right to speak out, he would be willing to listen to a university proposal.

"If they offer $10 million, I would think about it. If they offer him $10, I wouldn't," Lane said.

I take that back.

Since Cornell is noted for Veterinary Science, I think this time he will send a resume to be head of the Veterinary Medicine Department.

Question:
He should be fired for falsifying his resume before being hired. CEOs etc have been terminated for that, why not him ?

Answer:
The Emperor Weraing No Clothes has convinced us serfs to let them write their own rules, paid for by we the serfs, for compensation and every thing else including the bogus and not founded in law concept of "tenure".

The entire education racket needs to be "outed" . A street paver deserves the same raise and benefit package as the "intelligentsia" who usually are not that intelligent nor work as hard or as smart as the paver. Both are usually paid by the state treasury which should give the PEOPLE some say.

"University of Colorado is going to pay big amounts of money to get him leave?"

My first thought, too...but it beats having him sue them and they lose even more money for their stupidity. I'm sure the final paperwork will have numerous clauses in it that he can't come back to haunt/sue them ever again.

And really...did we expect a different outcome? They guy is a fraud and a freak all the way around. It was always about the money for him. He's milked the system his entire adult life; why stop now?

(Take heart...he'll get what's coming to him one day. People like this always do.)

Churchill probably knows him from when Lane was at CU. Univ of Denver, where he is now apparently, is relatively hoity-toity academia, expensive etc. It's where Sec. Rice did undergrad I believe.

Findalawyer.com ......LOL! Why didn't I think of that??

If they offer him 10 million, I'll be more furious than before.

Me too. I want this guy gone -- I want him on the ash heap of history -- but I wouldn't want the university to pay him one cent to achieve that goal.

Hey! Sounds like a great deal. Libel 9/11 victims, lie about your ancestry, forge artwork, teach anarchists how to commit terrorism, assault reporters—and end up with 10 million bucks and a quick easy retirement! Who knew the halls of academe could be so lucrative?

Lied about his military record too!

i wouldn't be surprised if churchill showed up as a professor on another campus, at a larger salary.

and hey!

two years down the road the macarthur foundation gives him a "genius award"--that's how things work.

they gave mike davis that moron in san diego a genius award for writing "city of quartz", a history of los angeles. i had to take a shower after reading it.

Ward Churchill's lawyer David Lane also represented a Boulder activist named Evan Ravitz, who promoted the view that JonBenet was killed by a ring of powerful pedophiles who were being protected by the government.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1351673/posts

AIM is an anarchist group, and they promote the conspiracy theory that the government/FBI are protecting criminals and that the FBI are terrorists. This is a constrant theme of Churchill's propaganda. I will not dignify it by calling it scholarship.

Evan "Agitprop" Ravitz also told the newspaper that his lawyer was Lee Hill. Hill was the lawyer of Leonard Peltier, the criminal who gunned down two FBI agents.

Lee Hill was arrested for assault with a gun, for almost crashing into a police car while speeding, and for not giving the police the 23 knives in his car.

He wasn't supposed to have weapons when he was out on bail.

Hill, the AIM lawyer, skipped bail and ran from Boulder. He has been hiding from the Boulder authorities.

Lee Hill was a key operative in AIM's effort to spred the "tinfoil" conspiracy theory that the authorities and FBI were protecting a ring of pedophiles.
