BTK' Busted, Wichita Paper Linked to Case Plans Special Coverage

Police have uncovered new evidence in the decades old BTK Wichita serial killer case and are questioning a person of interest, according to sources close to the investigation.

Authorities scheduled a news conferece for 11AM Eastern Saturday to make an announcement in the case, and relatives of the killers victims would be briefed beforehand.

Some police sources have said that a 59 year old man was arrested Friday and linked to the case by a DNA sample.

Surveillance activites gave police 'their first big piece' of recent evidence, leading authorities to a vehicle and the person of interest.

Investigators also searched a house in the Wichita suburb of Park City Friday, siezing computer equipment.

It is still speculation one way and the other regarding Rader's daughter's cooperation. Some say she did and others say that they do not know if that is the case.

No word yet of any charges made against the x-dog catcher at this time.

Thanks for filling in the missing links. I couldn't understand how they had connected the dots. The only question remains now is what was he killing in the missing 16 years and why in the heck did he start drumming up the publicity about himself again? He would have gotten away with it if he had laid low. It was as if he wanted to get caught. His bio is like Dale Gribble from King of the Hill. How could a family have lived with him and the souvenirs of his killings without realizing that something was amiss. I understand they thought it was done by somebody much older and was probably dead or in prison by now.

I sure hope that the Boy Scouts don't get trashed because of his affiliation with them!

I just sat back down myself since pinging you a few hours ago. Arrgh! I have yet to be able to catch up with this story. And Tex, I'm sitting here watching the Rita Cosby rerun -- thus far, she's only mentioned "her sources" once.

LOL! She just said it again!! Right now, while I'm about to start the next paragraph! I can't watch this woman more than 5 minutes at a time because it's just too irritating.

During the Scott Peterson trial we had one thread a day with all the new stories posted at the top to avoid cluttering up the forum..Posters still blasted it for even being on FR.

The resentment expressed was directly in proportion to the number of TV shows and news comments dedicated to the trial over which crime/trial buffs have no control..
