The Catholic Advocate ^ | June 2004 | Cecilia H. Martin

Posted on 02/25/2005 9:19:53 AM PST by LaFlorida

"...What is the motive behind the restaurateur turned physical therapist turned nurse who passionately pursues his wife's death? Many wonder. Could Michael Schiavo be a pawn, a pawn in a much larger game being played for much higher stakes?"

I had those same thoughts also.

One lady on the forum replied that water seeks its own level. She is as despicable as he is. She might do him in. After all she has his example to work with. All she will have to do is tweak it a little to suit her.

I gurantee you that if I was holding her life insurance policy, the moment she said "I do", I would come off the policy. Because from that moment forward, her life is worth exactly the amount the policy is for.

When I was in the final stages of divorce, my ex would ask if the life insurance premium was paid. Even though it was, I told her it wasn't. I didn't want to add another 250,000.00 reasons for her to want me dead.

I do kinda look forward to an Alfred Hitchcock/Twilight Zone type end to his life for the agony and misery that he's caused. This woman could be the one to provide it.

Not that I would ever encourage that sort of thing, you understand. LOL

When GOD wants her home he'll call her, not before.

Yeah, I think they might be in cases where the terminally ill don't stand a chance, but then your question brings me to wonder how many Michael has removed in the hospital where he works. How many family members are aware it was done. In the case where family members live out of state they might not even know their loved one are in the hospital. Maybe he practiced a little. Also, insulin overdose of patients, is that hospital keeping track. If I had a loved one who died there in the last 12 years I would be asking if he was working anywhere in the hospital? Did he have access to my loved one? What measures are in place to prevent abuse and euthanasia? I have a choice of which hospital to go to and it isn't going to be in the Tampa area, and if an emergency caused it, I'd ask to be medievaced out.

Don't forget all that "human rights" stuff we cram down other countries throats, only if it doesn't agree with ours, and here we sit with a Judge telling us that the disabled don't have any human rights in this country. How can we be so hypocratic. You know this country has a trade embargo on Mynamar because of human rights issues where people, mostly kids are being disabled daily to harvest teak, but we only enforce that embargo if the purchaser of teak is new, not if he has been purchasing it for years. Another example of hypocrasy. We have to keep those e-mails and petitions and phone calls flying, because the truth of the matter is, we are advocating for a lot of people, including ourselves.
Terri is leading the charge to prevent the oldsters, retirees, disabled and vets from being starved/dehydrated to death, frequently without their family's realization that it is even taking place.

An abuser will continue to abuse.
A killer is a killer all of his life.

Jodi is at least as culpable as Michael. I hope the church won't give her dispensation to marry an atheist.

"You and me both. NOBODY would starve my child. It is time for A MAJOR UPRISING!! The currency of freedom has ALWAYS been blood. America's sons and daughters are shedding their innocent blood in a foreign land to bring "freedom" to an oppressed people and freedom is being snatched right out of the hands of their own Countrymen. WHAT HYPOCRISY!!"

The more I learn, the more I'm convinced that what you say is going to happen. If government mandated death for anyone who can't avoid getting older becomes official policy, all h3ll will break loose. It will be self defense.

Don't think it could happen? Check this out.

I thought that Michael was the Catholic -- in the loosest sense of that word, mind you. Would they even care about the church's blessing? Somehow, I doubt it.

Since when does God need our help to take his children home????

Since when does God need our help to keep people alive?

And then last time they pulled her tube, he chose to deny her morphine in order to spite her parents.

Wait...he had her ON morphine... it was the Schindlers who complained, in one of their games, right?

Well, early Christians practiced suicide to show that they were not tied to earthly life. The Church didn't ban it until the Council of Brega in the 6th Century...and even then, the Church still sanctioned some suicides (since it was tough to admit that they had saints who had done so, otherwise).

Either way, it seems that "life at all costs" isn't an original part of Catholicism in particular, while it's antithetical to Christianity in general.

I have never disagreed with that. For the fortieth time, she should be released to her parents, to be cared for in their home, paid for by them. ONLY because she had no written consent.

There doesn't appear to be any money that Michael will get out of this. He turned down quite a lot of money so that he could have her killed. I think that he may be afraid that there is evidence (with Terri alive an uncremated) of foul play.

The first one I have little doubt about--but, perhaps, some.

The middle one I'm not convinced of his guilt and think he might have been framed.

That last one, though, has 100% guilty written all over him!
