If John Paul II does pass on while Bush is in office, W SHOULD go and represent the United States. He should NOT send anyone else for that event. Prayers for Pope John Paul II.

The White House will follow protocol.

You have bashed the Pope and us. Go to a fundamentalist, bigot thread and leave us alone, please.

Parkinson's isn't a good way to go. The only good thing is your mind stays realtivly clear. My grandpa died of it.

Lutheran prayers for JPII.

I have faith that God won't let that happen, Torie.

You say I bashed you and you make your point by name-calling? Interesting.

I don't know about her term "trapped"
because he's be able to attend to his
duties and even travel and write. But,
Parkinson's has made it a struggle for him.

If he's alive, he's Pope.

If he's dead, he's not.

That's about the top and bottom of it.

It's like a person who comes into a hospital waiting room and talks about everything she doesn't like about the family and the person in surgery.

Would you like that done to you?

I thought that was Reagan?

It was Reagan, Thatcher, and the Pope. The Polish Solidarity movement would have foundered without the Pope's support.

There seems to be something you are lacking in your life, or something you want to say, or some gripe to air.

What can we do for you here?

You know when I woke up this morning to hear he was rushed to the hospital again I knew it was Pneumonia. Alot of times flu develops into pneumonia. In old people this can be especially deadly. But I am relieved to hear the operation was a success.

I never called you a name. I just said you should go somewhere else. There are plenty of anti catholic sites all over the web. Go there and leave us alone.

I suggest you leave this thread alone. You're making no friends here. You are, however, alienating a bunch of other Freepers.

When he came to San Antonio in the 1980's, I travelled from Houston to see him. My friends and I arrived hours before so that we could be in front of the crowds. His pope mobile was no more than 20 ft. from where we stood. We received his blessing and I am so happy that I made that trip.

I never did know why we Catholics omitted the final verse, "For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory, forever" - such beautiful words.

In our Anglican Use mass, we say both the Lord's Prayer and its doxology (the "for thine is the kingdom" part). I hope you can visit an Anglican Use parish sometime and join us in prayer.

Please note that parishes that celebrate mass with the Anglican Usage of the Roman Rite are 100% Roman Catholic -- not Anglican.

Right. Your thoughts mirror my husband's.
Only God knows if He is ready to call JPII home.
I have great faith, as you do, but JPII has been
special. He is especially beloved.
