Whenever a nun died, the others would go about with a smile and a radiant look. Their sister had gone to her reward in heaven. So let it be for John Paul, when the time comes. You get it, you really get it!! Sister Mary Ethelgene is very proud of you!

Miss Marple, thank you, that is a truly beautiful hymn.
Funny, the one year I didn't go to Catholic school, I always loved the Protestant version of the Lord's Prayer. I never did know why we Catholics omitted the final verse, "For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power and the Glory, forever" - such beautiful words.
To: Churchillspirit
Thank you for that awesome perspective. You did a world of good with one post.

Thank you to all non-Catholics for your kind words and prayers. I'm taking this whole thing harder than I had anticipated and your prayers for him mean so much to me. God bless you all!
I don't want him to go... But God's will be done.

They're not omitted in the Mass. There is a short prayer said by the priest, followed by "For the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory are Yours, now and forever..."

Your post caused me to recall this image:

While no one can fully discern the mind of God, His thoughts being so far above ours, with these men you can at least say that they were truly good servants who did not stand by and do nothing when confronted by evil.
God's blessings upon Pope John Paul, and may His will be done...

I fear that he is worried about who will lead the Church when he is gone. That might be why he is holding on to this life, even with his pain and suffering.I've had the feeling for a few years now that he was hanging around for a defident reason.
