This old Protestant redneck knows John Paul II is one of the Great Popes, and wants to delay the colder, darker day when he is no longer among us as long as God permits.

We have never had a Pope in this situation. Regardless of what is written on paper, it is what the Curia surrounding him decides to do. Given the variety of influences and agendas, it is anyone's guess.

There are those who believe that Pope John Paul II will be the last "real" pope, i.e., that whoever follows him will be an apostate who will do great harm to the church. I read this some time ago, so I don't recall the details of where it comes from. And not knowing the specifics, maybe I shouldn't have said anything at all. But that's never stopped me before . . .
Considering some of the ruminations coming from those in the Vatican these days that doesn't sound far fetched

Again, that's not always an immediate bad sign, sometimes aggressive pulmonary relief measure like traches and vents are required to clear up congestion. I understand .. but it's bad
FNC now reporting that the operation has been completed

I saw the thread on Sr. Lucia's death a couple of weeks ago and saw other comments on how her death was a bad sign
She was expected to live for ever ??

Thanks.
I am totally confused.
God is with him.
I know that.
Maybe his time on earth is coming to end,
but I sure hate to see it.
I need to call husband back.
He's very upset.
I still don't know what to tell him.
Conflicting news.

Guess you all have suceeded in stifling free speech! I'm not much of a christian, so suggesting that you STFU won't cause any lost sleep.
You're an attention seeking little twit and this is NOT the thread for it.

I am not even a Christian and I think the Pope has had a great moral impact on the world. I respect what he has done and what he stands for very much.
I was spellbound the one time I was in St. Peter's Square and saw him speak on Sunday.
I pray that he will survive this.
