I have an older German couple who live next door. They were both about 15 or 16 when the war ended. When they found out that My cat "Newt" was named for Newt they had a cow. When they saw my first Bush yard sign they started harassing us, calling at 3 AM and pounding on our house in the middle of the night. These are people in their seventies!!! A few weeks ago the husband came up to my office window (I work at home in North Central California) and was pounding on a metal can off of a 5 gallon can. I used my digital camera and got a 5 second video and then went into the bathroom where I took the trash can filled it with water went to the window and poured it on him...priceless.

Reminds me of the true story Paul Harvey told a while back.
It seems that the Frankfurt air controllers are notorious for being snotty and rude to pilots. One day, an American airline pilot contacted air control for landing instructions into the Frankfurt airport.
The air controller said something the pilot did not understand, and the pilot asked him to repeat his instructions. The air controller snapped back "Have you ever flown to Frankfurt before?"
The pilot calmly replied "Yes, I have. In 1944. But I didn't land."

LOL! People see it different ways, I thought these two were ironic.
Here's the AFP caption:
"Protestors demonstrate with banners reading 'no cosy atmosphere for Dubya' and 'Pro Monica. Do it again for America' in the center of Mainz, where US President George W. Bush met German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.(AFP/DDP/Martin Oeser)"

And the next time the Russkies blockade Berlin, they'd better not come crying to us.

You should have seen the guy! Seriously, out there trying to get turned around fast enough to get back over the fence to his property. Sadly, he is Polish and the GERMANS killed his dad! His dad was a mail carrier and the Germans killed anything in uniform but all it took was a few years in the Hitler Youth to clear his head. Neither he (George) or his wife (Bridgette) believe the Jews were harmed. They both are afraid of modern appliances and still use a rotary phone. They believe my computer system (3 servers) is causing their house to hum. I have offered to make them tin foil hats but they never took me up on the offer. The standard joke is that George may still have the Panzer Faust that the Nazis issued him in July of 1945. That's right I said JULY of 45
