A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....02-23-05....Another Finest Play Day

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Being 8 Years Old Again

I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 year-old again.

  • I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four star restaurant.
  • I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.
  • I want to think M&Ms are better than money because you can eat them.
  • I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer's day.
  • I want to return to a time when life was simple. When all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.
  • I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.
  • I want to believe that anything is possible.
  • I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.
  • I want to live simple again. I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.
  • I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.
So, here's my checkbook and my car-keys, my credit card bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first, 'cause...

"Tag! You're it!"

and have a wonderful Wednesday!

If they put me in front of a PC, I could go weeks without noticing the confinement. : )

LOL. Well, yeah......I guess with a computer and an internet connection, I might be able to handle it for a few days.

Thank you, my FRiend.

We never do anything "big" about it, we were together for nearly 10 years before we got married, so it was just time to do it.

Thank you, Sis. I let time get away from me these past couple weeks and didn't come up with something to post, so had no choice but do a "re-run". Play day is always fun though. :-)

I need to stay away from that site. No one will see some of what I downloaded except maybe on a graphic.

Thanks for the bump, ia.

Are you drying out some over there? Today was quite nice in the Central Valley. Hope it lasts for awhile.

Of course!! There is always time to play. Don't know if anyone is here though. It's kind of quiet. I've been in and out all day.

There is probably more going on over at Amy's Place. :-)

I just got an email that my care package to a soldier was sent today. You can select a soldier from any state, any branch and any location...or let them pick one who has been waiting the longest. I picked one who was waiting the longest & got a guy from Louisiana in the Army National Guard. I hope to be able to one package a month to our brave men & women.
