An American soldier overseas is fuming over letters he received from Brooklyn middle-school children accusing GIs of destroying mosques and killing civilians in Iraq.
Pfc. Rob Jacobs of New Jersey said he was initially ecstatic to get a package of letters from sixth-graders at JHS 51 in Park Slope last month at his base 10 miles from the North Korea border.
That changed when he opened the envelope and found missives strewn with politically charged rhetoric, vicious accusations and demoralizing predictions that only a handful of soldiers would leave the Iraq war alive.

The letters were written as a social-studies assignment.

I wonder how these kids and their enlightened teachers would feel if our soldiers were not there to protect their precious asses. If we had a situation in a school similar to what happened in Beslan Russia who in the hell do these kids and their teachers expect to come and rescue them? The NEA?
And the kids just thought this up all on their own w/o any prodding from Teacher K.
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrre.
I agree with you 100%.
Sixth graders wouldn't write stuff like that without prompting
from the teacher.
Certainly had me going there, for a few minutes!
That's a great hillary face, btw. Reminds me of my mom on a bad day. Sorry mom!
How did they get his address. Someone dropped the ball big time. An APO address shouldn't be shared directly with any school and a box of mail shouldn't be forwarded without those letters being vetted.
This teacher should go on staff of the Wahabi schools, he would be an asset there.

Bingo!
"How did they get his address. Someone dropped the ball big time."
I posted this piece because, quite frankly, it didn't surprise me. I know many, many people, not all on the left, question the accuracy of the Post's reporting. And not without reason, it is truly a muckraking tabloid, which can be both bad and good. Since the article included a response from the Principal I figured it was essentially true.
I'm under the impression that service members get mail from school kids often, but I have no idea how the process works. You sure are right about somebody dropping the ball this time. In fact, it seems there were many fumbles involved here. But, the biggest bobble of all is that we have a system of "public" education that spends a good deal of time, effort, and OUR TAX DOLLARS undermining our nation.
Time to Freep the School?
Will anyone actually show up if we decide to actually Freep the School?
Doesn't Brooklyn have huge numbers of Muslims? I believe there was some rejoicing after 9/11 in Brooklyn. There were even articles posted here that some in the Brooklyn population even knew of the plot. Isn't it mmore likely that this is not an issue with the teacher but with several vocal Muslim students in the Social Studies class?
Yes we do.
This definitely needs to be boomed out on Rush, Hannity, and O'Reilly's shows. Those NJ teachers need to be outed and publically reviled. Of course, as NEA members they can't be fired, but they should be shunned by everyone who hears about this vile act. I am glad that this packet of puke didn't reach our fighting troops in Iraq, because that would have been heartbreaking after all their sacrifice. I do think this comes under giving aid and comfort to the enemy...and using children in the government schools to do it. Just when you think they can't get any lower and more evil, a story like this comes along.
I can see 70s and 80s public school brain washing on this very forum....a lot.
And folks don't even know it.....they think it was always like this.
This is not new.

I saw Arnaud deBorchgrave one time on television explaining the origins of a terrorist and how these young men can be convinced to commit suicide for their cause. He described an example of how many Saudi boys are sent to Madrassas in Pakistan to be taught hate of the U.S. and Israel at a formative age - in order to become missiles for the fascist movement against western culture and ideologies.
It would seem the U.S. has many Madrassas now being conducted under our tax dollars. This must come to an end.
The best teacher of Social Studies, Political Science, Current Events, will never reveal his or her personal wishes to students, but teach all sides of all issues on the curriculum. The best teacher will never sway a student but fill them with curiosity and inquiry and the ability to find their own answers.
The best teacher will never reveal to the students what his personal position is on any issue.
The only good thing is they will rebel against their parents!

Race, I think contacting the principal, superintentdent, Joe Klein, and Bloomy are ok. But I can't support the idea of picketing the school, or whatever. I really hate it when the left does it, so I can't agree to it for us either. The students really are just kids, even if a few, or even many, of them have some stupid ideas in their heads. I just never like the idea of adults accosting children.
