An American soldier overseas is fuming over letters he received from Brooklyn middle-school children accusing GIs of destroying mosques and killing civilians in Iraq.
Pfc. Rob Jacobs of New Jersey said he was initially ecstatic to get a package of letters from sixth-graders at JHS 51 in Park Slope last month at his base 10 miles from the North Korea border.
That changed when he opened the envelope and found missives strewn with politically charged rhetoric, vicious accusations and demoralizing predictions that only a handful of soldiers would leave the Iraq war alive.

The letters were written as a social-studies assignment.

I thought the left was against the war but supports the troops!? What a big fat lie. Most likely these kids' parents helped them write this crap and intentionally demoralized our own soldiers.
This infuriates me but it's not surprising. EVERY parent must monitor what AGENDAS (see my home page) are being shoved down their kids throats in school, because I guarantee that it is the most extreme sort of socialism and globalism you can imagine. You want to know how I show my students every year that they have been victims of agendas at the start of every school year? I ask them two questions:
#1 How many of you, in your entire school careers have EVER heard a teacher or administrator say something GOOD about guns?
#2 How many of you, in your entire school careers have EVER heard a teacher or administrator say something BAD about the United Nations?
No? Guess what? That is an AGENDA.
Parents you MUST monitor what is said in your child's social studies classes at ALL ages! The instant you sense a socialist agenda is forming you have a duty to go in and rant and rave and pound on a desk with your shoe. You won't get anywhere, but they'll know you're watching.
I would also urge the parents of kids who are about to enter college to send their kid to a summer camp run by the John Birch Society for a crash course in Constitutional truths. It's co-ed and not all classroom stuff. Lots of fun. JBS
Well, considering that John Kerry got 74% of the vote in this county (Brooklyn), I have a feeling they're not too upset about it.
Oh no doubt, I found numerous instances of them trying to promote an agenda on our kids, opinions my son would come home and parrot, and I had to sit him down and disabuse him of various notions they planted. Such as when he came made a statement one day about how homosexuals should be able to marry, an agenda to which we DO NOT subscribe. At the time it happened, I was MOST stunned by the fact that he was only 8, and I was ticked they had even discussed such a subject in a class of kids who had no need to even be exposed to such things yet.
My son is now in a private school, and I have monitored their curriculum, and it is MUCH better.
Have you all been pinged here yet?
See post 140 please!!
Actually my son-in-law does enough for several people, his SUV is Sooner red!
I fully agree with you. The "funny" thing about this is that the indoctrination begins in the kindergartens and preschools, and continues into the college years, even when these students will have reached adulthood and are pursuing their MA's and PhD's....
These teachers will then turn around and use their bully tactics to insist that we activists who oppose them are being seriously brainwashed and misinformed, as if we were not intelligent enough to observe for ourselves exactly what is happening.
I, for one, believe in the absolute separation of school and state, the absolute separation of ATHEISM and state...Academic freedom belongs not just to tenured teachers but to at-will teachers as well. It belongs in equal measure to students at all grade levels. Before I am misunderstood, it belongs, also, for many of the educational years, to the parents of these students being treated as creatures to be indoctrinated and socialized into some idiotic liberal regime. In the case of parents, there is a concurrent responsibility to be fully aware of exactly what is happening in ALL schools, public or private, in which their children are enrolled, and to take appropriate action to re-assert their God-given and primary responsibility for their own children's well-being and intellectual development.
There were not the rants of kids.
These were the rants of the teacher.
These kids were writing what the teacher instructed them to write.
Sean Hannity is talking about this right now. He is talking to the Soldier's father.
15 out of 21 letters bashed the President. The Teacher put a cover letter in there so he read the attack letters beforehand. A friend of the father has a kid go to the school and she asked him if his son would like to receive letters from the students.
There will be a follow up tomorrow. The father will be on Hannity & Comes.
The father will have copies of the letters tomorrow. He says they are disgusting.
That wasn't my point.
