An American soldier overseas is fuming over letters he received from Brooklyn middle-school children accusing GIs of destroying mosques and killing civilians in Iraq.
Pfc. Rob Jacobs of New Jersey said he was initially ecstatic to get a package of letters from sixth-graders at JHS 51 in Park Slope last month at his base 10 miles from the North Korea border.
That changed when he opened the envelope and found missives strewn with politically charged rhetoric, vicious accusations and demoralizing predictions that only a handful of soldiers would leave the Iraq war alive.

The letters were written as a social-studies assignment.

I reached out & touched the principal's answering machine...
;)
I think they misspelled Alex's name.
Take that last 't', and put it between the 'n' and the 'h'.
VERY bad move. Think of the negative press PETA gets when they do this, and PETA is on the side of the Legacy Media and the Teacher's Onions (Unions).
DON'T do this. Just expose what's going on. Mainstream Murrica will "get it" just fine.
Schools need to be held accountable. This teacher should have a black mark on his/her permanent record. I would immediately remove my child from that class....maybe even the school.
I have done so, my own son attends private school now.
I've not read down thread yet, but do we know this soldier's address so we can send him letters?
I don't believe that for a second. If those kids had written letters that were insensitive to issues of race, gender or sexual preference, Costello and Kunhardt would have censored the hell out of them, or faced serious consequences for not doing so.
Costello and Kunhardt should be fired.

"...the dozen black students in the class didn't."
Oh come on, is that true?
Red hair is a recessive trait, isn't it? That's why it is so rare, so actually it would not be unusual to have two brown hair parents beget a red-haired child.
That's why they call it hair-red-ity, don'tcha know!
I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
Is Ward Churchill the principle or teacher?
Yep.. absolutely true. He got canned for that remark back in 1979.
Yes, although perhaps the teacher should have sent a cover letter explaining the situation. Open peaceful disagreement with another's point of view is a cherished freedom to be enjoyed. Perhaps the teacher did send such a letter, but it was misplaced or ignored.
By 6th grade, most public school students likely to have been captive audiences for up to 7 years of liberal indoctrination. Also, the largest determinant of behavior at that age is peer pressure more than anything else. That the soldier got any letters of support at all is a cause for celebration of sorts-- the indoctrination is not having a uniformly negative effect.
BTTT!
I just read this in the NY Post and it infuriated me. I live a few blocks from this school and I can't believe the insensitivity of this principal. Course I should'nt be shocked as liberals suck, period. This poor young man all excited to read some letters from school kids only to have a bunch of them attack him and his fellow soldiers. Despicable.
