An American soldier overseas is fuming over letters he received from Brooklyn middle-school children accusing GIs of destroying mosques and killing civilians in Iraq.
Pfc. Rob Jacobs of New Jersey said he was initially ecstatic to get a package of letters from sixth-graders at JHS 51 in Park Slope last month at his base 10 miles from the North Korea border.
That changed when he opened the envelope and found missives strewn with politically charged rhetoric, vicious accusations and demoralizing predictions that only a handful of soldiers would leave the Iraq war alive.

The letters were written as a social-studies assignment.

Interestingly enough, he's listed on ratemyteachers.
And I welcome you to Oklahoma.
Sounds like the letters came from a Brooklyn middle-school Madrasas.
Bump.
The teacher who did this need to be named, SPECIFICALLY!
This persons is to be nowhere near children of ANY AGE.
Hopefully this soldier will somehow get the information to us.
Fox reported on the story.
Does anyone know the name of the teacher?
I live in Blue State Hell (Massachusetts). My daughter started kindergarten last September, and I have to tell you that I had been just waiting for a chance to butt horns with the public school system over all kinds of political offenses.
In fact, however, I have been amazed to discover that more than half way through the year I have no beefs at all (so far).
My daughter has learned to say the Pledge of Allegiance (including "under God"), which they recits in class every day. She was proud to show me she had learned it. She walks around singing "Three Cheers for the Red, White and Blue -- the United States Forever," which she also learned in school.
On one of the hallway bulletin boards, there is an exhibit of fifth graders' work showing: "What I love about America."
Even MLK day, which I was dreading, was used as an opportunity just to teach the kids to be nice to each other and show respect -- without getting into a discussion about how terrible America has been. (I have no problem with kids being taught about slavery and discrimination -- just so long as that is not the first or main lesson they learn about American history. Oh yeah, and that they learn that it was the Democrats who mostly favored those things. But I digress.)
In any event, I have no idea what battles may loom in the future, but I have to admit that the school system has done a pretty good job of disarming me in terms of my expectations. I am real pleased so far, and hope I will continue to be.
If not, they will hear from me. But it just goes to show you never can tell.
Sounds like this school could use a good Freepering.
Howdy soon to be new neighbor!
Kali to Dallas TX for me! (Big D on 3/28)
I found him here.
There is a great sstarting place. He has molded their minds to hate America and what it stands for. It's sickening.
I wondered the same thing.
Most muslim students in Brooklyn attend various schools in Bay Ridge, Sheepshead Bay, and Bensonhurst. You do have a private Muslim school about 15 blocks south of the school in the article, but most of the kids come from outside the neighborhood.
BTW: You are quoting urban legends.
Who's the commie coward hiding behind a bunch of school kids to spew his anti-American B.S? Shine the bright light of truth on angry idiots like this; they'll scurry away to a dark corner like the roaches they are.

Public school teachers are whackjob communists.
They are as much the enemy as any terrorist.

I disagree. Most Park Slopers (and I know several) went right back to their loony left selves within weeks of 9/11. 9/11 DIDN'T CHANGE SH-T! Most of those firefighters if they lived in the city lived on Staten Island and in certain nabes in Queens. The left-wing yuppie douchebags in their million dollar brownstones who love to brag about "diversity" but send their kids to private schools filled with whites and Asiatics are the same as they were pre-9/11. The same goes for Manhattan.
Go down to Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights if you want to meet some REAL Americans, despite the influx of Muslims into the former.
Park Slope is a beautiful neighborhood, but let's not kids ourselves regarding the symphathies of its inhabitants.
