Maverick Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday that his New York colleague, Sen. Hillary Clinton, would do well if she becomes president of the United States.
"I am sure that Sen. Clinton would make a good president," McCain told NBC's "Meet the Press," as both he and Clinton were being interviewed from Baghdad.
While noting that as a Republican, he'll be supporting the GOP nominee in 2008, McCain reiterated, "I have no doubt that Sen. Clinton would make a good president."
Asked whether she thought McCain would make a good president, Sen. Clinton was somewhat less effusive, responding tersely, "Absolutely" - before erupting in her familiar cackle.
I didnt see it and still wanted to blow my breakfast all over the keyboard. Why is the Republican party tollerating this moron? He needs to be kicked to the curb and let the demonrats have his sorry assss...!!
I think that McCain wants to run for the GOP nomination in 2008, and it's comments like this, among many others, that make that nomination a long shot. If (when) he loses, he'll have another tantrum like he did in 2000, and may run as a third party candidate to try to screw the GOP. However, if he runs, I think he'll draw as many votes from RATs as he does from Republicans, and may have a fairly minor effect on the outcome.
Let me reveal here, the actual quote:
While noting that as a Republican in name only, he'll be supporting the GOP nominee in 2008, but will not miss a chance to criticize and denigrate.
McCain reiterated that he is an idiot and sincerely hopes the gullible public will not see him for the misguided miscreant that he is.
He went on to point out that he has been fooling his constituents for so long, that a few more years won't matter.
I wouldn't want him to be misunderstood.
This posting should have had a RINO alert.
McCain wants to be her VP, is my guess.
I am not in the least surprised.
While "campaigning" for President Bush, McCain stated that Kerry would make a good president when he was asked a similar question to the one he was asked of Hillary.
I'm sure McCain would be a man if he had the gonads. One can only speculate what went on with him in Vietnam.
Well, we had a Recall McCain movement going when 9/11 hit. Our Old Media is very Liberal, and all the MSM love McCain. Plus, whenever you talk about his nutso, anti-Constitutional antics, people say "Well, he's a war hero!"
Believe me, there are a lot of people in Arizona who are fed up with McPain.
The media will always do the maximum amount that they possibly can to portray him badly to Republicans because he will be on the 08 ticket, and here's the kicker:
He will be on the GOP ticket, but he darn well might be the VP.
Think Rice/McCain. And that will beat Hillary/Richardson.
""Maverick Republican Sen. John McCain""
A Maverick? Why? He's pro life and pro gun. He's a backstabber not a Maverick.
Boy, has she become more ugly in the last ten years.
She has those muskrat-pouch cheeks.
McCain should just switch parties and get it over with.
The people of Arizona must be ashamed of him.
McCain is NOT our friend... he is dangerous.
I would hope that the Arizona voters fix this.
OMG!!!! McCain is sooooo off my list permanently now. He is a goofball totally off his rocker...
If the elitist GOP kingmakers put McCain on the ticket in 08, I don't know how I could remain a Republican any longer.
Here it comes...
...BUT I thought the question was hideously unfair, and Chrissy Wallace (son of Mikey) just dropped off my credibility screen.
Almost everyone on the crissie mathews show today was insisting that she always HAS been middle of the road!
Unbelievable, but they stuck to it!
