Maverick Republican Sen. John McCain said Sunday that his New York colleague, Sen. Hillary Clinton, would do well if she becomes president of the United States.
"I am sure that Sen. Clinton would make a good president," McCain told NBC's "Meet the Press," as both he and Clinton were being interviewed from Baghdad.
While noting that as a Republican, he'll be supporting the GOP nominee in 2008, McCain reiterated, "I have no doubt that Sen. Clinton would make a good president."
Asked whether she thought McCain would make a good president, Sen. Clinton was somewhat less effusive, responding tersely, "Absolutely" - before erupting in her familiar cackle.
How could he say that about her highness??? It's bad enough that McCain even went on such a trip with Hillary (he could have picked the group members himself or opted to take a different trip to Baghdad), for as a prominent former presidential candidate he surely has to know that having her as his "bi-partisan" pal on this trip helps to reinforce her stature for 2008. Why is he helping to solidify Hillary as the front-runner? Is he insane, or is it an insidious plot to help the Democrats end up with another losing candidate in '08????
This one needed a "barf alert"! Those two just deserve each other!
"Hillary Clinton will never be president and neither will John McCain."
I hope and pray you are right. But when you consider that Kerry came frighteningly close to the presidency, I cannot be at all relaxed about the prospects for Hillary's electoral demise...... I can't see how she ever ought to win, but then I thought her low-life husband could never get one, never mind two, terms as president either......
McCain is a RINO and it wouldn't surprise me if he jumped over to the RAT party so he could be her VP candidate.
Remember all the near-hysterical praise heaped upon this RINO by many members of this forum during/after his speech at the GOP convention. It was equally puke-worthy.
Yep.
McCain is an idiot and a RINO. Hey, i voted for the guy in a primary several years ago. Now I wouldn't vote for the guy if he was running for dog-catcher.
Who are you?
Some are worse than others. Some of the good ones turn bad when they get there; and even the good ones don't seem to have the conviction to make much difference.
What is that W.B. Yeats' quote? This may not be exact:
"The worst are full of passionate intensity, while the best have lost all conviction."
He sure is. I have never liked him. I think he's arrogant. I will never vote for him. I think Hillary wants McCain because she thinks he can pull the military vote for her, and he might just do it.
I guess one of a few things are happening here.
#1 He's got a brain tumor and has gone crazy.
#2 He's preparing to jump to Democrat or Independent.
#3 He's a big @sshole.
He's been promised something or is pissed off that most conservatives don't like him and is trying to play a big game of get even.
Or he could be dying from something and is trying to sabotage the Republican party in some get-even move.
As I found out with Boxer, you can't recall a SOB Senator by the people, you have to do it when their term is up.
Rino McDino?
McCain gets pwned by teh witchbiotch. ;<(
# 4.....ALL OF THE ABOVE
this just confirms that hellary keeps mccain's FBI file on the top of the stack...and we can't forget the "boy wonder" lindsey graham.
I agree... but that said I would take McCain or Hillary over the traitor John Kerry any day if those were the only choices.
