"The governor was having casual conversations with someone he believed was his friend," White House spokesman Trent Duffy said, referring to Bush.

The wording of that statement says a lot.

Well .. I hope the President has learned not to tell all to "someone who he believed was a friend".

"You know why? Because I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."

That says everything right there.

"I wouldn't answer the marijuana questions," he said, according to the Times. "You know why? Because I don't want some little kid doing what I tried."

Of course implicit in this statement is "If I were Algore". The shallowness of these people still amazes me.

As long as Bush, like the admitted dope smoker Willy J. Crinton, didn't inhale (cough-cough), it is okay!

Tapes show a man of honor and integrity. Speaking from the heart to a man he trusted.

That the Slimes would suggest that Dubya may have known he was being taped is so typical. They just can't believe a person can be honorable.......on and off the public stage.

Honest answers to honest questions...I see nothing wrong with what G.W. said....so he says "what I tried"...as "Chef" says in South Park "There's a time and place for everything...and it's called 'college'."
What he may or may not have done as a youth does not bother me one bit. He has not pursued the path of the destruction of America like so many of the other political persuasion have done so since the sixties.

Well, which was it, coke or weed? Next we'll see someone who has tapes or witnessed W inventing the formula for Meth.

So in a taped private conversation with the President, Bush unknowingly reveals he's a good man of conscience. Shocking revelation!

This guy is no friend. I hope he enjoys his little noteriety. He's shown rather than be of equitable character as the President, that he would stab a "friend" for a quick buck and publicity. If I were "friends" with this guy, I'd dump him after this knowledge.

Nothing here that can hurt the President. Only increases my respect for him.

Magically, people who record innocent conversations are not called ugly, whereas people who record criminal activities, like Linda Tripp, are called every name under the sun...wow..what a world..

These tapes are nothing but good news for Dubya. They just demonstrate all over again that he's a man of his word. Not one surprise among his comments. He's been consistent from the beginning.

I wonder if President Bush now refers to his 'friend' as "DickWead" to his remaining friends...bump for further digestion.

Good on you W. One of the few of his twisted generation who knows what the definition of the word "responsibility" is. Dem's climb all over themselves to talk about how they were molested as a kid or about all the dope they did, its sickening.

The private Mr. Bush sounds remarkably similar in many ways to the public President Bush.

Well, NO SHIT SHERLOCK! The quote above is from the story as "reported" in the NY Times. Liberals of all stripes, and especially those in the left-wing media, just can't believe that ALL politicians are not fakes and phonies, like their boys and girls - BOTH Clintons, Gore, Kerry... name ANY of them! Do or say WHATEVER it takes to get, or hold on to, power and prestige. Reinvent yourself whenever politically necessary. THAT's their M.O.

When a conservative-leaning Christian, like the President, comes along with deep faith and convictions, that never waiver, they don't know how to handle it.

They also don't know how to handle somebody that is confident and self-assured (they derisively call it "cocky", but either way, you need that in a leader), tough when necessary, manly, and truly loves his country and our history, traditions, and way of life. They just can't FATHOM all of this.

I KNOW the left-wing media, and all left-wingers across the land, are VERY disappointed that they didn't get some new dirt on the President with these "Wead-Whack" tapes, but you can be assured that they will hound this "Judas" til his death (when he will probably become a Democrat voter, if he's not already one) to get any recordings he has not released yet (if there really are any more). What a "dick-Wead" this guy must be.
