As long as Bush, like the admitted dope smoker Willy J. Crinton, didn't inhale (cough-cough), it is okay!

Who sez that pot smokers can't become President?

Toke up, my friends :-)

I don't think Bush's possible dabbling with pot while he was in his bad old days is necessarily a fatal flaw, just as it should not have been a fatal flaw for Robert Bork. Everything I've read indicates that the man genuinely turned his life around. Contrast this to Bill Clinton's legendary womanizing, which continued well into the White House and probably beyond.

The whole story strikes me as a cheap shot - and I am by no means a Bush fan. There are plenty of thing to beat up George Bush over, but this area is certainly not one of them. Opposing him on principle is one thing, taking cheap shots about some past personal failings, especially in light of the fact that those habits are no longer part of his life, is nothing more than ad hominem attack.
