is it just me, or is Glendale a rain magnet? I commute from Universal to Pasadena, and there are days when it's not raining anywhere but Glendale. It's weird.

Do you have any flooding around and near you?

Not that I can see, since we are in the foothills and on a hill. There is a LOT of water running down the street almost "river like"..... My daughter lives in La Verne in the foothills there, and said that there are road closures and mud coming down from the recent fires there.

No, but I am through bleeding for La Conchita residents. They were warned 9 years ago to move out, and they got nailed last month. To this day, most are still there.

I live in Tennessee and we get 40 or 50 inches of rain a year.

I lived in so. California 26 years and I do not remember it ever thundering or lightning. I do remember if it rained at all we had rainy day session at school.

Great view , and dangerous as hell. No way anyone should be allowed to live there. It cost us 8 million last month to dig them out.

I beleive the updrafts around the mountains contribute to increased levels of rain. My folks that live ten miles from me in La Cresenta, get double or more rain that we do in Glendale. About a decade ago, I measured how much rain they got one spring. It was an unusual year, but I lost track at about 45 inches. I don't remember how many times now, but the five inch collector overflowed on occasion, meaning that I potentially lost inches of rain for my record keeping. That's a lot of rain.

I commute to Van Nuys each day to work. It's the strangest thing I've seen, but the small area where I work, is always experiencing a downpore about double the rainfall I've driven in on the way to get there.

We've been pretty fortunate as power goes of late. It used to be that we'd have it go out for hours at a time two to four times per year, a few years back. I think the people in my area finally had a belly full, and told the city to get it's act together. I know I sure did. At any rate, things are better on that front.

TV Weatherman MARK KRISKI, who has had a great track record in correctly predicting Southern California weather for years on KTLA-TV Channel Morning News,

...has recently stated that he feels the Christmas Earthquakes/Tsunami's in South Asia have tilted the earth axis enough to affect the world's weather patterns.

Seem so..?

If he had that smirk he's usually sporting, he was probably goofin' on ya.

hey - do you know if this rain is turning into snow at the local mountains?

I am not sure , but I do know that last week we were told that Big Bear Lake was up about 10 feet!!!!! Yahoo!! For the past two years, we have not launched our boat due to yucky lake conditions. Snow is supposedly above 6,000ft elevation so let's hope so......

Suppose to get a foot of snow before it is all over.

OC has had 3" of rain so far and another 3" on the way Sunday they say.

.

Actually a usually smarty-pants MARK KRISKI was very serious when sharing his thoughts on TV about Southern California weather patterns being changed by South Asia's recent Earthqukes/Tsunami's.

In today's ABC-TV Coverage of the weather-suspended Los Angeles NISSAN Open Golf Tournament a longtime commentator remarked that in all his years there he has never seen such severe Los Angeles weather.
