Here's a way Jeb Bush may be able to save Terry Schiavo: Open an investigation into the possible assault that led to her comatose condition. Have the state pay for her maintenance to "preserve the evidence" and pay for language therapy for her so she can tell us what she knows about how she got into the coma. It struck me that the reason her husband wants her dead might be because he's afraid of what she'll say if she recovers. I don't see how a judge could possibly deny the state the right to preserve evidence of a serious assault.
Hope she's not dead yet.

Terri's heart attack is like John Kerry's 3 purple hearts.
This one already did. Greer ruled that just such evidence was, so to speak, out of court. The evidence of assault is in her bone scan and he refused to look at it or admit it as evidence.
It gets much worse. Greer also approved Michael Schiavo's request to cremate Terri immediately after killing her. This is contrary to Terri's religious beliefs. The only reason to do this would be to destroy the evidence that Terri was brutally assaulted.
Greer thoughtfully allowed Terri to pay for her cremation out of funds awarded for her therapy.
If she is as brain shriveled as you say, she would require a ventilator in order to breathe.
You have a way with words that makes me upset! Only because if there are no funds left in the medical award account due to lawyers fees, he will probably tell Terri's parents to pay for the cremation. That would be Michael's ultimate organism.
There's still some money in that account. Besides, the Schindlers would never pay for that unless they could have an autopsy performed first. Michael can't have his cake and eat it, too.
My morale must be getting down tonight. I can see that happening because they have been pooped on every step of the way so far.
Did you listen to this? What I heard just astounded me!! It was the first time I ever heard this.
Terri has already voted to live by surviving all the adversity she has had thrown at her. After all if you deny her instruction to relearn to talk, then she has to communicate in other ways....and don't give me any further crap about her brain, etc etc. I've taken care of lots of people like Terri, some have even relearned to walk. She has lots of potential for rehab.
People can WILL themselves to die, you know, and she's had plenty of time and opportunity to do so.
You sound like Felos. You put "She has no brain in caps", so therefore it must be true.
There have been plenty of doctors that say she has a brain and can be rehabilitated. Look at the video for heaven's sake. The woman is brain damaged, but anyone can see she is alive and responds to people. Nurses have testified that she has said a few words, and she still tries to say some of them despite being refused therapy by her husband-in-name-only. He has a common-law marriage with another woman, and can't wait for Terri to die.
I thought it was good too Lady J. He is an honest person and a great doctor.
Hey, it happens to the best of us! I think I was really down in the dumps last Friday, cause I thought Gibbs had an especially great brief for Greer. How long have you been watching Terri's case so intensely? You've been a busy beaver for her, and that seems to be when the wear and tear really begins to set in.
Can you point me to some evidence of this CAT scan? If it's true, I'd have to agree with you.
Untrue. An intact brain stem is all you need to maintain respiration.
I have only heard about 30 minutes of it, but what I have heard is great! I have to somehow get hold of another computer to listen to the whole thing. The one I work off of is old and has no sound card. : ( I have to sync up with someone in my family who would be willing to loan me theirs for the 90 minute duration.
In what way has the malpractice settlement been keeping her alive? Feeding tubes are quite cheap to administer; Terri's parents could probably care for her at less cost now than when she was a teenager.
Have you ever seen any of the videos of Terri?
Over the span of this last decade, Theresa's brain has deteriorated because of the lack of oxygen it suffered at the time of the heart attack. By mid 1996, the CAT scans of her brain showed a severely abnormal structure. At this point, much of her cerebral cortex is simply gone and has been replaced by cerebral spinal fluid. Medicine cannot cure this condition. Unless an act of God, a true miracle, were to recreate her brain, Theresa will always remain in an unconscious, reflexive state, totally dependent upon others to feed her and care for her most private needs (emphasis added).
I have a hunch if that if every post about Terri included the fact that she's been decerebrated, that this wouldn't even be an issue.
